The idiocy (and selfishness) of panic buying

There are about 8,380 petrol stations in the UK, according to the Petrol Retailers Association. Of these, about 1% are believed to be closed at the moment. So anyone filling up because they have half a tank is an idiot. I haven't called you or anyone else a 'virus' or a 'selfish prick'. It's the fucking idiots putting a £10 in 'just in case'. In case of what, their isn't a shortage of petrol and there won't be unless people start filling up every day.
hope you dont mean me, i was literally in the red ! I only took a tenner as i am not a ****

On the plus side, nobody panic buying in tesco, plenty of loo roll, only thing empty was the water isle, asda are mostly out as well, the water is mega hard where i am so that is a pain but i will live

This is nothing to do with Brexit.
This is nothing to do with Covid.
This isn't to do with selfish people.

This IS to do with the press.
They latched onto a possible shortage, linked mainly to BP garages.
So they go overboard warning everybody that the fuel will run out. Forgetting to mention that only a small portion of garages would be affected.

They are doing the same with possible food shortages. Sensational headlines just to generate clicks.

They are causing these panics, and should be punished for it.
Of course they will roll out "freedom of the press" issues.

It's the same with recessions. They don't just happen unless there is a natural disaster.
They start by talk of a possible recession. That gets people nervous, so they stop spending/investing.
Before you know it, we have an actual recession.
20,000 drivers since Brexit have gone home,so please don't say nothing to do with Brexit no driver's no delivery.

20,000 drivers since Brexit have gone home,so please don't say nothing to do with Brexit no driver's no delivery.

If that is the case, why is europe suffering even worse driver shortages?

Anyway, as pointed out.
Todays panic buying chaos isn't being caused by those driver shortages. Just bad info.

Another example of how many cockwombles inhabit this country. There is and won't be a shortage of fuel unless people go out and fill out unnecessarily. A handful of BP petrol stations are closed so the whole country rushes out and fills up like sheep.
Please read the posting guidelines for this thread and it seems every topic in the political one. It is clearly happening because we left the e.u.

This was always going to happen once the Govt. spokesperson stated "there is no need to panic buy - there is no petrol shortage". That was enough to trigger the predictable response from selfish f**ktards. The same c**ts who bought the bog roll last time. Don't know who is worse but I know who started it.

This is getting boring now.

I’ve got to drive to my dads birthday tomorrow a couple hours away. I’m low on petrol - am I a ‘virus’ ‘selfish prick’ and god know what else that people are spouting.

Most people need petrol in the incoming days especially for their work etc.

it’s totally understandable people are rushing to fill up as who knows how long this disruption could last.
No, posters like you are getting boring. If people had carried on putting fuel in their cars when they needed it this would not be happening. Try reading what a poster is saying. It is the idiots who are panic buying that are the problem
