The "Im not going to wembers thread"

Im not going because im on holiday, but even so I dont have a big attachment to the charity shield, frankly I find it totally pointless.

I went to the EDS derbies at Hyde and Alty last season, yet I'm not bothering with the CS. I went to the semi (shouldn't be at Wembley) and the final (one of the best days of my life), and I'm sure there are thousands who couldn't go to either so it gives them the opportunity to get a ticket. Dublin is miles more appealing.

I'm not a sad bastard for feeling like this, it's just the way it is! I want my Wembley trips to be sepacial days like cup finals not friendlies.

Bang on......Ive been to loads of EDS games as well as 1st team matches but because i draw the line at being treated like a c8nt form the FA im a miserable bastard? I fucking know for a fact if it was ANYONE else apart from United only half the people would go

It seems like many Blues are looking for excuses not to to Wembley. To be fair i was the same a few weeks ago, the money, the travel, being on a Sunday etc.
But in the end, playing Utd at Wembley was the only excuse i needed to make the effort and go! So i've got tickets for me and the Lad and booked on a coach. I'm really hoping others do the same too because I'd hate to see a half empty City end.

Just a thought for those who can't be bothered.....Utd will sell out their end no problem, even if their regular match goers can't be arsed there's enough armchair rags who will see it as a 'once in a lifetime' chance to see them play!
Imagine if the FA had given them an allocation of 45k and given us just 15k what would your thoughts be??

I reckon Bluemoon would've been in meltdown!!

Surely a large percentage of ticket revenue will go to charity/ community - not the F.A?

Nohwere near as much as it should - Dont have figures excatly but not that much actually goes to charity - Thats why i will pay my £10 so a chairty doesnt miss out. The FA get no money to pay for their massive balls up of a staduim but the charities benefit - everyones a winner

Except you. Only joking mate, fair play for sticking by your morals. It should all go to charity minus costs.

Each to their own OP but if you went to the semi and final i dont really get your point as those tickets were dearer

I was going to boycott the semi but my dad told me to being a mard arse so I went -

I will always pay for a cup final ticket, thats what wembers is for - cup finals

I would just like football fans to stand up for themselves and say were not paying these prices anymore. £55 for away tickets is getting stupid and its only going to go up.

Is the subject changing to not going to any more away matches, or home ones for that matter, as prices are going up and up? The FA don't control those as well. If your not going I wouldn't feel guilty about it and try and justify your reasons to the nth degree, just don't go! As for giving money to charity, FFS, either give it or don't!

CS is cheap though and some of the money goes charity.
