I am increasingly impressed by Mancini. There is not a single player in the team that he doesnt seem to have improved. This seems to have been overlooked or overshadowed due to the fact he has had to deal with some players who were disruptive or not right for his vision, it is becoming abundantly clear though in my opinion that this guy is a top top manager who knows what it takes to win. Lescott, Richards, De Jong, Kompany are unrecognisable from the players Hughes signed and he has own signings look improved Silva was unplayable at times today and dzeko (who I have slated - apologies edin) looks a yard quicker and harder. Thank you Mr Mancini keep up the good work.

I thought harts distribution looked a lot better today as well.

I think it helped with the 3 players who stayed up front, instead of all and sundry defending when Bolton had their corners.

Hear hear. The energy levels are so high right now compared to the beginning of last season.

Yes, they have improved. And he has Dzeko as a target. And Dzeko retains the ball a lot more these days now that he's fit.

Cheers mate. Told you he was quality ;)

The entire team looks loads improved, both individually and as a unit.

Will get slated for saying it, but i dont think Vinnie is fully on his game YET. Couple more games and he will be firing on all cylinders

Stood by Dzeko, and every time he was critisised he responded by saying Dzeko is a quality player, and its shown.

The importance of Mancini is his ability to learn! He's let the shackles off so far and is now defending corners with 3 men on the half way line. We will score plenty on the counter attack this year

I have said, from day one, and I am not alone on here, that this bloke will take us places. All the bollocks we have heard about 'Negativity' was always going to be spouted about a team newly formed and utilised. Defence, as any fucking idiot with a smidgen of nouse about this game, is the first thing that needs attention. This has been addressed by Mancini and now he has let slip the dogs of war.
This, my friends, is going to be one hell of a season.

Now, you're talking utter guff!

In the month of the first season proper, of RM's reign, I broke down how he would build up the team play; that he would do so from the back. That up until every part of the team sections were solid, he would not move on to the next part of the jigsaw and that 'swashbuckling football' would follow.

When the fans started saying how we were 'boring' and preferred Mr Hughes back, I was aghast at the impatience displayed! I'm just glad I had the foresight to understand his methodology and not think a team should be able to play straight away.

This is where Mr Hughes went wrong; building a team with players already renown for their positions and just building their fitness and telling them to play. No plan, no nothing in comparison to the manager we have now.

We are witnessing Ruud Gullitt's wish for 'the beautiful game' unfold at Man City. All I can say is, if and when we play Barca proper, it will be SOME GAME!

I concur, absolutely.

Found this comment on the Guardian match report, from (I think) a dipper fan:

This isn't a fashionable opinion perhaps, but I think Silva has actually become a better footballer since he joined City.... and he was excellent to begin with.

I think he's 100% right; a lot of factors in that improvement, but I'm sure Mancini is one of the prime ones, if not the biggest.

Today we looked a TEAM the football we played was as good if not better than I can remember following city for the last 40 years.I would be surprised to see Barry,de Jong, and ya ya,all start the best fit would be any 2 from 3.rotate and keep em fresh.then you rotate the front 4.Milner looks a much better player,Barry had a great game, rarely wastes the ball. And you can see just where nasri will fit in.what a great squad Mancini has almost put together now let him finish what he has started.Have faith HE won't let anyone down.

We play 3 midfielders to change possession in the middle of field and immediate through ball to Kun or long ball to Dzeko that is very dangerous counter attack.

Mancini is the best thing to happen to this Club in the context of taking "the Project" where it wants to be.
He is a winner and a perfectionist - just listen to how he goes on about completing his squad. He's not interested in what he's got just what he needs to complete the picture.
Relentless, committed and the best.
Just watch the the tunnel video for the Swansea game - lots of frivolity and bon homme but not from Mancini - just focus and concentration.
This Club's going places and he's the leader we needed.
As previous posters have said - loads of stick ,stupid comments about negative tactics from the simpler souls on this forum.
This man is the business!

Mancini deserves credit for all the dressing room shit he has sorted out since joining us. Every single player at the club is under no illusion about who the boss is and he is proving himself to be a great leader week after week. If you fuck with him you won't win.
