The It’s a bit windy weekend thread

Im a cruise fan and a bit jealous, our last cruise finished Feb 2020 and that was it, no ships in Oz since. Weve had cancelled 8 cruises since then. My mate in the UK went on one in September and said they had so many precautions in place he felt very safe. Enjoy it mate. In these times though Id always book a balcony room (not internal) just in case.
We're on Iona, P&O's newest ship... she's impressive, we did a weeks' staycation (no stops) in September and were wowed by how stable she was and the on board facilities... The people who had their cruise extended by a day (still hovering off the south coast) have said that she is still pretty stable despite the view outside...

We're in an outside cabin, porthole window but no balcony as SWMBO likes to be low down... The truth is she is thrifty like her late Father and didn't want to pay an extra £100 each for a superior balcony... Luckily we befriended a couple on the last cruise (Blues from Soton) and one works for P&O so we are now on the friends and family discount list.... Winner

Lots of render missing from the roofs of houses on our small development in Hawarden as it was absolutely howling last night.. 5 sections of the perimeter fence (no it's not an open prison) are down because of the wind... Maybe now my tight-arsed neighbour will have to replace his fence that has been bodged up for the last 2 years... It's now being help up by a couple of trees... He messaged us from Florida to say how are things holding up.....
