The Kompany, Silva and Aguero Statues

Ive noticed people thinking statues are just gonna be erected willy nilly (lol at erect and willy), but i dont think thats the plan at all. Kompany, Silva and Aguero represent a massive change in our club, that why they're getting statues. De Bruyne is brilliant, but will never get a statue. The fact Yaya isnt gettin one shows this is about more than just being a great player.
 
Probably going to be in the minority here but statutes always strike me as a bit theme park. Start a legends charitable fund or something

Not a fan of statues for players as a rule tbh. But if you have to do it a certain time needs to pass before it should be considered.
 
I don’t think they should get statues. Great players, but we could easily have another set of legends over the next ten years. We can’t just build statues for them.

for me the player who most deserves a statue is trautman, for what he did and the context he did it

I don’t need to list them here because the beauty of doing Hollywood style stars is that you can feature almost every figure over time and turn each unveiling into an event.

A lot of people have talked about naming stands after players and, to be honest, this is something I’m against. I’ve always felt that you limit yourself by naming stands to four major legends. Had we done that in the past we may we’ll have stands named after Meredith, Cowan, Brook and Johnson - no disrespect to those players but what do you do when you then get a bigger legend? It becomes a minefield and some clubs have demolished or renamed stands named after legends.

The best way to remember a club’s past and allow space for future heroes is to build statues, mosaics, Hollywood style stars etc.

Said it before on here Gary, I agree Hollywood style stars heading over from or to the academy

Vinny’s should be
1) the leap after scoring the header against United (which will be hard to replicate in statue form),
2) holding up that first Premier League trophy,
3) the double knee slide goal celebration.
I’d pick him holding the PL trophy aloft.

Well, there can only be one of three...
1) taking “that” shot
2) wheeling away and taking off his shirt or
3) swinging it above his head as the players chased him.
