The bill passed. Any of you Labour apologists that defend this are cunts.
First the WFA u-turn and now the abandonment of the planned welfare cuts - all without a suggestion of how they plan to pay for it.
Straight out of the Liz Truss playbook.
Utterly shambolic.
I know this for absolute certainty.
Had this been a Tory bill not one of them would have supported it, not one!
Fair play to you and a few others who still have their dignity and principles intact.
Cheers. Well, that’s what democracy’s for.The amendment failed and the Bill will pass, but the damage has been done according to mainstream media.
Yes, it is interesting. So lots of concessions made and no savings made. Which of your taxes are you prepared to see rise to pay, what is on the way, to becoming an unsustainable welfare budget?
I'm giving credit to the rebels and if I'm being honest i don't know much about them individually or the rest of the party who cowardly toe the party line. Having differing views is vital. You could never get 10 people to agree on everything so when you see blocs of MPs who do it they are of no use to anybody. May as well throw them in a bin.
There are so many Labour MPs it brings different problems. By their sheer number it means many will never aspire to more senior positions. So they vote according to what their constituents will want.B
Cheers. Well, that’s what democracy’s for.
Personally, I’d like to see massive reform of all areas of welfare/benefits and give those that need it a decent standard of living, including supply of social housing and social infrastructure.
I suppose this is part of what they are trying to, save money to invest elsewhere. How they thought Labour MPs would go along with this, I’m not sure.
Well before last election I came to the conclusion the cast was set however which way I voted.
If I'm wrong correct me, but there was a record low voter turn-out and thus a record low mandate for Labour?
Like Hungary have had a state referendum on the vote to allowing Ukraine into EU - further mandate should be sent back down the pyramid.
Power is currently at the top in unelected orifices, and it's utterly pointless and a waste of a vote locally.
there are many that will. The bill passed. Any of you Labour apologists that defend this are cunts.
Further and faster.... further and faster, just let that hang in the air.You can flip that, is there any group you aren't willing to throw under a bus for Starmers endless pursuit of strong and stable ie look I'm dead sensible me not like those old timer socialists.
Despair?
Some interesting facts here including lowest turnout was in Rusholme at a paltry 40%. Never knew that.
*Edit
Just noticed high turnout wealthy area
Low turnout poor area, apathy or despondency?
They’re in disarray.Reeves and co busy inventing yet another financial black hole of their own making as well don’t forget.
I wonder if she and many in here will mention it?
Sorry, no, it's what you do all of the time. The Tories let the roof fall in and it now needs repairing. Answer which taxes you are happy to see rise and, potentially pay yourself. You can flip that, is there any group you aren't willing to throw under a bus for Starmers endless pursuit of strong and stable ie look I'm dead sensible me not like those old timer socialists.
