Ok we clearly are getting a left back in Jan but who are we all hoping for? More realistically who are we going to realistically get.

Watching last night i saw the forgotten Leighton Baines make an appearance and he looked decent, if we all remember when he was at Wigan he was touted as the most promising fullback in the league. Although he's on the bench at Everton for a reason.

Then there is Warnock, voted player of the year in his time at Coventry, and Bently recons hes one of the best fullbacks hes played with, but again question marks over him, especially Blackburns recent defensive foes.

Then the most obvious choice, Mr Bridge. Hes never really stood out from the crowd but is really solid defensivley and he used to have a wicked cross but has lost that in recent times. Not an England International for no reason but again if we are aiming to reach the heights of Chelsea, then signing there ubs maybe not the most forward step.

I only mention the above players as i don't think the current posistion and stature of the club are likley to attract The Lahn's of Chellini's of the world?

Thoughts?

garrido is okay, but he's hardly going to set the world on fire, he's a good squad player for cover, but i do think we need someone with more quality at left back for the long term.

A fella on MEN says we have agreed a deal for wayne bridge.

I have it on good authority that City have agreed a £13m deal with Chelsea for Bridge. As one door shuts, another opens. Keep the faith, dont heckle on friday, this is when SUPPORT matters most. Keep the faith and a Merry Christmas to one and all.

Marcell Jansen looked quality the other night against villa in the uefa cup...
i'd go for him.
I cant see us getting bridge tbh even though he'd be my first choice.

we have gone downhill since Williamson left to Wrexham..........lol

He had a lot of desire when he played for the first team, something that one or two first should look at. I hope he does well for himself fc.

Michael Ball also played for England, however everyone seems keen to replace him. IMO Ball is quite steady and the problems this season seem to be at centre back

There is only a left back issue to those who have no clue, and I include Hughes in that. Centre back x2, centre midfield, 2 or 3 strikers and possibly a keeper are more important than a left back.

am i the only one who thinks bridge is vastly overrated, milk turns quicker than that lad he's like the tin man

for me garrido has really come into form this season and i see no reason to replace him atm, we have other areas that need to be sorted out sooner like the striker situation, we need a striker who will bag us 20 or more a season and i cant see benjani doing that for us, give jo a few games on the bounce and he might come good, look what he did against chelsea, i didnt see terry or carvalho once beat him in the air, he needs confidence

no
i hate him
exactly the player i dont want to see at city, one thats happy to just sit on the bench aslong as hes getting paid
and lastly hes not good either.
