Dechambeau drove like this and won the us open. Mcilroy wouldn’t though, he spoke about it why he’s doing it at here before it started. His recovery shots have been unbelievable and it’s because he knows Augusta can let you do that if you miss in the right places.

He got the monkey off his back last year so he looks like he’s really enjoying it this time.. fair play, he’s a great player
 
Unbelievable round of golf from Rory. I got Tiger late 90s vibes. I just knew stuff was going to go in like when Woods was at his pomp. Its all about today. If he puts another round like that in.... its in the bag
 
6 shots although a pretty large lead isnt a gimme by any means, plenty of great players including Rory have had some nightmarish rounds on that course. You only have to be a little off to hit a 74 75. In which case anyone just below him with a 67 68 is right in it. Even getting within 3 or 4 by the end of play today will give others a chance.

Sometimes its tough with a big lead if you start playing overly safe you can lose your tempo. A double bogey can happen on plenty of holes at Augusta. I hope he plays with freedom again and the lead could well increase.

Yeah don’t mind Rory now I’ve warmed to him maybe the rider cup did that..
 
Looking a bit more interesting at the moment with Mcilroy's lead being cut to 2. I suspect he'll still win it (and much rather him than Reed and some of the others up there) but it does make it a bit more interesting than just a 2-day procession.
