Think we’ll see it this year if Messi signs.

Is this a euphemism for this transfer?
waiting for it to happen but in the end it just repeats itself.

Have a read of this post.....some really interesting points from someone who seems to know what they’re taking about when it comes to player contractual disputes:

Sounds like the Webster ruling and invoking article 17 is our best bet! It has been used successfully in the past and it applies to Messi in this instance as he was over 28 when he signed his contract, and he has served over 3 years of said contract.

In essence, this means he is entitled to walk away and sign for free for another club under this ruling. The only ramification is that compensation may be due to Barça in future. However, the value of any compensation due would be much lower than the £100 million city are prepared to pay.

Based on that the club's need to agree a fee. Not a chance either Messi or City are going through with this if there is even 1% chance it could cost €700m. Tebas, Barcelona and the league will have enough influence to make sure that is the figure reached. Even using the Shaktar guy as a guide you are looking at close to €350m.

Pep was on some Spanish tv show earlier in the year talking about this. He doesn't see RW as Messi's best position any longer because of all the running it involves but in the middle as he wont have to cover as much distance and can defend a smaller area.
He will probably be played right behind the front line.
