If the figures quoted by Swiss Ramble are anything like accurate FFP really does belong in some kind of alternative universe dreamt up by UEFA but which has no connection with the real world. The 395 million euros to be repaid in the next year really does exist though and Barcelona could find themselves in a Leeds scenario, in which players have to leave to ease the wage bill and even more painful sacrifices have to be made. It is ever more astonishing that they didn't agree a deal with City for Messi (Garcia going the other way) but they face a very, very difficult year and , very likely FFP difficulties the year after.
Yeah but if fans come back and revenue starts coming in and the debt payments can be made and they don’t lose more than 30m over the next 4 years ffp want effect them and there 1 billion debt is fine! It’s fucking joke how Gill changed ffp into there favour.

I don't know if its been discussed but any savings in wages at Barcelona - are only wage deferrals (I think)... so wont those amounts have to be paid later and accounted for in the year when they were due?

PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes says a move to Paris is 'up to Lionel Messi' and reveals Ligue 1 giants 'are trying to convince' Barcelona star to join on a free transfer this summer

Nail hit on the head. This should be huge news but instead UEFA will pat Barca on the arse and say do you want to lend a couple of quid.
It's not a shock this isn't in the mainstream.
Based on Swiss Ramble's figures FFP is not the concern for Barcelona at the moment. On those figures Barcelona have to repay 269 euros to the bank and 126 million euros to other clubs for transfers. It may be possible to reschedule the debt to the bank, but the terms are unlikely to be particularly sympathetic because the banks are not finding the present particularly easy. The 126 million euros outstanding on transfers is the most serious IMMEDIATE concern. UEFA has taken any failure to pay bills very seriously and it cannot do anything else with Barcelona because the debt is to other clubs which are feeling the impact of Covid on club budgets, and have similar obligations to meet transfer repayments. And Barcelona wish to defer wages which will also be of serious concern to UEFA. It is hard to see that the club has a 126 million euro surplus on its budget to make the repayments. It would be a cause of hilarity in Manchester if our cuddly friend Mr Tebas followed up his unjustifiable rants about City's finances by trying to help Barcelona welch on its debts but it would cause outright fury at the clubs to which Barcelona owe money and they will take action. I do not get the scenario where there is any sympathy for Barcelona if they cannot pay there bills.

IF ... WHEN? That's FFP, and I don't think FFP is the problem for Barcelona because it's a paper exercise to prevent clubs paying high transfer fees. Barcelona has bills to pay in real money NOW. Perhaps PB could comment on this.

Writting has been on the wall for these carrupt fuckers

All these years fucking sponging the life out of the state & banks & now there fucked

I'm so fucking glad, hahahaha for fuck sakevthey can't even pay £10m for Garcia what a bunch of wankers

Let's see what the uefa bent cnuts say, they won't get dragged through the mixer like City yet we owe Jack shit

Tebas should be brought to justice allowing this to happen all these years the carrupt cnut they get in bed with each other its a disgrace

The fact Barca are looking at players like Garcia and Wijnaldum on free's tells you everything you need to know, these kind of signing's would be unimaginable for a club like Barca not so long ago.

Why haven't these been stopped from signing players either for millions or for nothing when they owe money hand over fist

This is bad for Barca. There is no way they can pay messi a increase in his salary when they still owe clubs money for players.
