There was a slightly similair post regarding transfers yesterday but it's not quite the same point here, apologies if you think it is.
But when people go on about 'average player' and 'paying more than we should'.
At the moment as everyone knows, we're in shit.
And to be honest as much as everyone heaps the blame on Hughes (including me) it can't be all him, the players have a part to play. And those who say that our current squad will easily guide us out of trouble are idiots. They might but I wouldn't risk it, look where we are now..
Like someone said yesterday we need more premier league experience, Bridge has it, Parker has it, even Bellamy has it.
The problem is people are talking about us buying these players for way too much.
a) Money really isn't an issue and if you're worried about what other fans will say because we pay £12million for a left-back who's barely played, who cares, the money isn't a problem.
b) Bellamy, Santa Cruz and Given are all first-team players for their clubs, Bridge wasn't, however has been capped for England so is proven and Parker has also proven himself with Charlton/Newcastle/West Ham. What are you expecting, West Ham to sell their star striker Bellamy and one of their better midfielders Parker for nothing?
Anyway all I'm saying is, just go with it, more premier league experience can only take us one way and Rome wasn't built in a day, start with these players, you'll be looking at world-class players in a few years. It's not like we've exactly moaned about not signing world-class players when Pearce or Keegan were in charge? We have money now but like someone said yesterday why would Villa move from Valencia whilst their riding high in La Liga?
Anyway what do you'se think on the matter (I'm sure some people will still protest that we should be buying Kaka and Villa) but everyone's entitled to their opinion and I'd like to know 'em.
Like I said apologies if something similair has been posted.
