The New House of Commons Speaker

For some it’s Brexit at any cost and parliament can just fuck off with its sovereignty if it gets in the way. The likes of Bercow and Miller have made sure the rules were stuck to and yet the hatred they receive for ensuring those who we’ve all voted to represent us, have their voice heard on our behalf, is shocking.

I don’t know whether the referendum unleashed cuntary in people or if it turned people into cunts but we’re here now.

What is amusing is how you two seem to feel that you run the forum and can just gratuitously slag other posters off - you are all over the threads doing this

There are several examples just yesterday of posts from you both that are simply direct insults - adding nothing of content and having no purpose other than to be make insults.

I keep seeing requests from mods for posters to stop engaging in personal arguments but you both feel free to treat such requests with contempt

To bee fair mate one said you was talking rubbish and the other said you were bias.

If we are classing them as insults and wanting such things banned then that stiffles any debate as basically you are saying no one can challenge your comments.

Saying your comment was rubbish, which personnally I have no opinion of myself is not an insult.

Also we are all bias, bar a few on here, I am openly bias towards the left as a socialist, I could name people bias on the right who it is pointless debating with other than initial reply because we are entrenched in our position.

I think up to now the GE and this thread has been a lot more civil than would have been 6 months ago.

Also I admit I have only scanned back 2-3 pages so if actually insulting remarks about your charactor or person were made priot to that, then I agree with you people beed to be repsectful to each other

Yeah - good point - but I make these comments in the hope that some individuals address their standard approaches that lead to threads being dragged the way of others and them being pulled.

These 2 individuals repeatedly - in excessive numbers - make snide and personal attacks, ranging from directly calling me (and others) a liar - to a plethora of one-liner snide remarks.

For me it just reflects the intention to generate personal arguments and demean other posters - and they are often found 'at the heart of things' when a thread is pulled. I just want to see an improvement in the quality of the thread(s) and stopping gratuitous insults and snide remarks would help.

Also, there has been a view amongst Leavers that there is a higher level of tolerance provided towards some key Remain posters that encourages them to feel that they can insult and demean with impunity - whereas there is a stricter approach taken to Leave supporters.

I can accept that the view of mods is that this is a false perception, but it would help demonstrate that balance if those posters were to - frankly - cut the crap

You hold remain voters in contempt despite the evidence of leave being a poor decision and yet you still blame remainers for it.

You constantly speak about bias and an agenda but you never admit you are wrong, which is often and you’ve never compromised.

You constantly moan and whinge about how people post and then you’re moaning about other people trying to run the forum.

If I didn’t know better I’d say you were a troll but in reality you’re just devoid of reality.

We did have a female two speakers ago, well two from Bercow.

Betty Boothroyd was speaker from 1992 - 2000.
