I used to go to one when out on the road called Jack Sprats,think it was on Hollins Road,Oldham,bloody belting golden brown fresh fish,proper good,chips were good as well

Strawberry Pig in Poynton was damn good.

Not much of a chip man, more an afishionado, so I can think of several where the fish is very good - crispy, well drained, large portion size:
Fosters in Alderley Edge
Fiveways in Hazel Grove
Waterloo Chippy in Ashton
Armstrongs in both Prestwich & Shaw
Tonys near the ground.
If I'm having chips, they've got to be well cooked - I hate the anaemic looking ones.

Captain Cod next to Salford Royal Hospital. Lovely food and always consistently good. Never warmed up chips and big portions. They have some cracking looking girls working in there too.
