The old question about the best pre match bar for atmosphere

Forgive me if this one has been done recently (I couldn't see it on the first few pages of the forum), but what's the best pre match bar for atmosphere these days, in the opinion of all of you?

I ask as someone who's only interested in how good the build-up is, not whether the beer is perfectly cold or top quality, whether the crowd is particularly likable, or whether fighting through the crowd can be a battle.

I'm super out of touch because I haven't been able to make it back to Manchester since late 2012 (cue the typical glory hunting foreigner stuff haha) so I have very little idea how it is these days. Back then the answer was always "Mary D's for atmosphere but I don't like this and that and the other, etc.", has that changed? Have any of the other bars or city square overtaken it, or would you still say Mary D's?

I'm going to the Palace game and I'm keen on going to wherever the best pre match atmosphere is given it's been so long!

Nothing changed mate, D's has the best atmos but not as good as it was. Townley better beer, City Square for sunshine and plasticness.
