So yeah, Hitzfeld is 60 so it will be a 5 years max job, which is just what we want. He has won everything in Germany which we keep hearing is a similar league, he plays good football, he'll be looking for a last big payday, he was won the CL a few times, he is managing Switzerland on a part time basis and has just qualified for the WC top of his group, he speaks good English, has managed top players and he fucking despises Ferguson.

What more could you ask for?

Sounds good, then!

Gentlemen. Since your cultured football people like myself...ask yourselves a question. Would Garry Cook know who he is?

Put some more info in last post.

I'm firmly in the "Give Hughes Time camp", and will be until the end of the season when I judge it.

If Hitzfeld declared an interest tomorrow though, or even after a 8-0 win at OT, I'd be firmly in the "Throw Hughes in the SHip Canal camp". He's the one manager in the world that I would love, even more so than Mourinho.

2 Swiss Super League (With Grasshopper Club Zürich in 1990 and 1991)
7 German championships (With Borussia Dortmund in 1995 and 1996; with FC Bayern Munich in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2008)

2 World Coach of the Year (1997 and 2001)
Voted Bayern Munich's greatest coach ever[10]
Rated the best Bundesliga-coach of all time[11]

When he took over Dortmund, they were 10th and constantly midtable. 4 years later, they won the Champions League.

That's like him taking over West Ham now and winning the CL in the next four years.

He's definitely the man, he's a fucking God.

Dammit I'm in. Especially if we get free pornos. It will beat watching us get fucked.

An intriguing question, and I would rather doubt it. But would Cook be responsible for identifying potential future managers? Presumably that's a Marwood job, though I speak from a position of total ignorance!

Well he didn't realise that another German, Uwe Rosler, was a former City player... so I guess Otmar Hitzfeld doesn't have a chance!

Seriously though, if we were to start a Hitzfeld In campaign, I would back it 100%.

The funny thing is, he actually resigned from Munich more than he got sacked. He won a few games about 6-0, but drew a few too then decided that he obviously wasn't living up to his own standards so announced it would be his last season. Bayern won everything under him, then he left and Klinsmann took over and they won fuck all.

If that man had our squad, we would win the Premiership and possibly the CL, without ANY more money spent. This is the guy who made Roque Santa Cruz in to a world class striker.

Thing is would Marwood know who he is? Although like you I have no real clue as to what Marwood does except being a mate of Cookie which pretty much is the main qualification for a job at City these days, being a mate of Hughes or Cook.

So thats Hitzfeld out of the running then. Doesn't meet the 'mate' standard

The Marwood Hughes Cook axis is an interesting one. The players we've signed have all been "proven premiership players" - so there's not really been much in the way of creativity from those three when it comes to recruitment.

FUCKING HITZFELD!

Not a bad call at all...a wonderful pedigree for sure...question is would he move to Manchester to take on the poison chalice that is the City manager's job...
It USED to be the job from hell, but now it's just the opposite.I wouldn't place any criticism at the feet of our owners. They have given us more than we could ever have hoped for. They have been advised right from the off that we are a club that has constantly changed managers and that has been our downfall,so they didn't want to be seen as impatient and publicly backed hughes in the hope that stability brings success. But if you own a battered old ford orion and hope that when you wake up one morning it has turned into a ferrari, eventually you'll realise that everytime you open the curtains,it's the same thing that plods you to work and back every day.Nothing more ,nothing less.
