I can't see the point of it all myself. Who's interested in him? What's his purpose?

What does everybody else think?

I think you must be pretty ignorant.

With regard to the Pope, however, let me refer you to my post on last week's thread on the exact same subject:

This thread will no doubt continue to be nothing more than a playground for the usual rag-tag collection of anti-papists, iconoclasts and atheists.

I'm pleased to say that I've seen a lot of the old prejudices disappear in my lifetime, but who'd have thought that anti-Catholicism would survive for almost half a millennium - from the reign of Henry VIII into the electronic age?

I have a old Auntie living in Coventry and by what I am hearing is it will cost her £20 to see the pope dont know how true it is but paying money to see him a bit mad if you ask me. Now they are the older Irish generation which are religious compared to the modern Irish people who only go to church for Weddings or Funerals.

That must be in the seats. I've heard it's only a tenner on the terraces. Beer and pie prices are a bit steep though. Tell your aunty to try and sneak her own in past the stewards...

I don't care.

I don't think it should be a state visit though. Just a way of getting it paid for out of the public purse. Like the catholic church is short of a few bob.

Right dont get me wrong but who gets the money is it all going to the venue or a cut between the Pope and the venue crazy stuff. I remember my Ma and Da going to see the pope when he came to Ireland they stood on the side of the road with loads of people to watch him be driven by in the Pope mobile and then they headed into the Phionex Park for the mass.
