I thought it would be interesting to see how Villa, Spurs and Pool fans feel about there chances of finishing 4th and how they felt generally about the situation. So i had a little check up around there forums to see what they were saying. I get the feeling generally we are cautiously confident about our chances. The caution being from the fact that it is City we are talking about here.

Aston Villa

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.villatalk.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=55713&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1365" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.villatalk.com/index.php?name ... start=1365</a>

They seem quietly confident about finishing 4th due to there somewhat easier run in than the other teams, although some do think that we will finish 4th. I did like how one poster had City and Villa both finishing on 73/74 points but forgot to add in our Spurs (H) game for us along with having City to lose to Villa at home, while also having Villa to lose to City away, amazing.

Tottenham Hotspur

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.tottenhamhotspurs.tv/forum/players-lounge/11490-70-points-clinch-4th.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.tottenhamhotspurs.tv/forum/p ... h-4th.html</a>

To my suprise, some were very confident, suggesting they would finish 4/5 points ahead of the rest. The real emphasis being that 70 points should grab 4th spot and the game against us being a must win. A few mentioned how the prospect of City away doesn't scare them, but a poster soon reminded him we are yet to be beaten at home. Lets hope that can continue!

Liverpool

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=250104.2280" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/ind ... 50104.2280</a>

They seem to have given up hope. Many suggesting they will struggle to even finish in the top 6. That could be a knee-jerk reaction after the Wigan game but in all honesty, they were god awful that night. Although some trying to remain upbeat saying we have a terrible run in and will drop many points. I did like the post about how a fan hopes we don't finish there simply because we will be difficult to dislodge.

This is true.

what ever the outcome is:

i just hope liverpool dont get it....if we dont get it i would rather villa or spurs get it....simply to blow the idea of the big 4 out of the water

it can only be good for football as it shows that the chasing pack are getting closer and closer to the teams that have dominated for a very long time

next season will be even closer.....the top 2 may remain untouched but i tihnk city, spurs, villa and maybe everton and liverpool may push arsenal for third and 4th places

^^^ This - 100% ^^^

We simply HAVE to finish above these arrogant muppets << their fans, not the players so much.

i agree , if we dont get it anyone BUT liverpool! hate them so much

Tottenham fans probably think there still in with a chance of the title there f*cking muppets, I can wait till we get them cockney c*nts at Eastlands.

We are all confident of finishing 4th, but I think it is between City and Villa.

I must say, I much prefer being in this situation than worrying about relegation.

Imagine what it will be like in a couple of years time when we are in the mix for being champions?

I've enjoyed this season, not just from our perspective, but the way the whole season has developed for all the teams at the top of the table.

In a few weeks time, we may be looking at the game against Everton in a different way.

It's going to be an interesting run in for all concerned, and I'm looking forward to it. There are going to be some shattered nerves!

The games left will soon disappear, which is why it is key we win on sunday and atleast pick up a point a fulham. Soon there will be 3 games left, and we really need to make sure its still in our hands then.

I think the spurs fans are over confident, i'm sure they have the rags, chelsea and arsenal back to back.
We have to play Villa and Spurs so win either or both and i think 4th is ours.
I am with you the Villa game and the Spurs game are must win games
So are we going to have the spuds game last game of the season? (could be a good one)

Going off what RM said in some recent interviews the team will be playing the Mancini way by the time of these games.

Lets hope its better than the Billy McNeil way!

I think 71points is the max required but with all the 4 chasing playing each other or top 3 it could be less so if we can win 7 out of 11 we should make it so if i was RM i would really go for these next 6 games as we could be nearly there if we have a great run. How many times did i use if, come on city

I think being knocked out of the FA cup is what will get us 4th place because last thing we needed was to play Chalsea again last weekend efter we humiliated them the week before.(Chalsea would of had 2 goal, beat us and kick the fuck out of us)
Now the spuds have another hard midweek game to play, Villa have a long hard day at wembley and Liverpool need to travel round europe most thursday nights and that will take it's toll.
City know what thay have in front of tham with no destractions and most of the time a full weeks rest inbetween.
