I feel bad for all of them because so much of the pressures result from having to maintain the mystique of the institution. Not even arguing over the virtues of that mystique or the institution, but it’s understandable that for some the psychological labor in sustaining it must be absolutely draining because it is, at its heart, an act of living a fiction.
