the drop off this season is shocking and it could mean more than what many feel just a blip

its not just this season its 2 seasons under pellegrini ok he win the league cup this season but that's a long way off what we should be in the league. shocking stats over the top 8 clubs in this and last season the lack of goals or strikers at the club the home record this season and this after going 5 wins and 5 clean sheets at the start of the season its a laughing stock to be fighting for a 4th place champions league play off place

right the million dollar question the road back to the top

pep coming in the summer a pocket full of money 5 or 6 world class players already here can it be a quick turnover or does the harmful couple of season under pellegrini set us back long term. is it a new build with a 3 year plan and 4 transfer windows and settling for 2nd best again or can it be set on fire again right from the off

I think we are short of a new keeper 4 defenders 3 strikers and a couple of midfield players but also a superstart in the mould of a messi or ronaldo somebody that wins you games on there own. so could it be couple of season before we are champions again or have the owners done the work behind the scenes already and its a blip

A league cup c/ l quarter final and currently 4 th. Alright thing aren't what they should be at the moment and we aren't at the peak we should be, but road back to the top ? Come on with Pep coming it's not not that far to travel. You make it sound like we have leagues to travel back up.

We need to have a summer transfer window like 2010. Boatang,Yaya, silva,Ballotelli,Milner. Boatang didn't make the grade but at the time the transfer comitee identified rightly some talents. We didn't have champions league football at the time but we convinced the names listed above to come on board.

I hope Pep is consulted on signings as frankly the ones we have made under Txiki have been woefully poor considering how they have performed for the club and what resale value they have. How much money would we get for Bony if we sold him in the summer?

4 defenders 3 strikers lol

with what we have at the club a new back 4 is a must you cannot gamble on vinny playing a full season and what have we got after that the fullbacks are just not good enough to keep a place in the starting line up the strikers with agureo you have bony that's it so 3 strikers is a must midfield we are going to lose Yaya and maybe silva could leave if the way he's been playing

we need a starting 11 that are going to play week in week out the chopping and changing must stop and we need a settled team and I don't see much at the club that have pin down a place other than joe hart a clean out of 10 to 15 players would not shock me this summer

yep its going to be funny watching skysports news this summer I can see Manchester city never out of the news over the summer

Guardiola will be given everything he needs! You don't hire the most coveted manager in world football then tie his hands! Summer will be enjoyable and next season will ve very successful! I see 4 or 5 coming in with 7 or 8 leaving

being top dog or 2nd for 5 seasons then yes its a very poor season and fighting for a 4th place in the league and league cup winners is not good enough for Manchester city and the way the owners have setup the club to be. they have drum it into everybody a winning mentality to be first and the best so seeing what we have built how can you say otherwise

the champions league is still a million miles away and from the groups to the knockouts been along old fight over 6 seasons. hand on heart we are never going to beat the top 3 teams in Barca Madrid and Bayern even PSG are way infront of Manchester city so I don't see much success coming even if we beat PSG. so when you look at the end picture at best 4th place and the league cup at worst just the league cup so yes we are in a mess

Is he called Faupala the young French lad?

4 defenders 3 strikers lol

Not quite sure what the 'lol' is about. A slight exaggeration on behalf of the OP, but not by fucking much. We have 5 defenders over 30, including all 4 full backs, a 35 year old centre half who's a shot fighter, and a captain who's had 8 calf injuries in 2 years. I'd quite happily say ta-ta to Dimichelis, Kolarov and the fella with the beard, who falls over clutching his face every time he gets nudged, and Kompany's future has to be in doubt. Up front, well Bony has to go, and promising though he is, Iheanacho is not yet ready to be more than an understudy. He needs to be brought on gradually. Anyway, that's 3 defenders and 2 strikers needed right there

yeah thats all nice and everything but how are we gonna find 2 world class center backs and 2 fullbacks without splashing out about 115 million on them.
and we haven't even start talking about the midfield yet

Out:
Caballero
Zabaleta / Sagna
Kolarov
Demichelis
Bony
Fernando (but only if we get a third new midfielder, like Thiago or Weigl)

In:
Zieler
Bernat
Bonucci
Gundogan
Xhaka
(maybe a forward)

Promoted:
Manu Garcia
Denayer

I am expecting Pep to bring some younger players through, sign some players who we aren't expecting and maybe one or two big name signings although if we miss out on top 4 that is less likely.

We're going to have to splash big money regardless. If we can get 2 Cbs and two full backs for your 115 million figure and take into account we'd be letting 2 maybe 3 go, it would bring it down to around 85/90. That's the ball park we've got to look at if we're going to improve.

Getting the right players is of course another matter altogether.

Selling highly paid players is also another matter

It's not a mess though is it ? We know Pep is coming and we know he'll change 5 players or so , there is a plan so really this just becomes another who will Pep buy and sell thread.

Not when we're likely to take our usual hit. I'd imagine we'd be lucky to get between £15/20 million for Mangala (who it seems is surplus) then maybe £5 million for Kolorav and the same for Zabba (who I don't want to leave). If it was Sagna to go it'd be a free, if it's Clichy it'll be a nominal fee.
