The Football Association has increased ticket prices for next month's FA Cup final by up to 22% compared to 2010.

The most expensive ticket to watch the Wembley showpiece on 14 May will now be £115, compared to £95 last year.

Other tickets will be available at £85 and £65 with the cheapest at £45 - which is £5 higher than last term.

Manchester United will battle it out with Man City on Saturday for a place in the final, with Bolton facing Stoke in the other semi-final on Sunday.

Both finalists in the FA Cup final will receive 25,000 tickets, with those remaining taken up by members of Club Wembley, organisations affiliated to the FA and volunteers from grassroots football clubs across the country.

But with the recession still having a major effect, the FA could come in for criticism for the ticket price hike, especially as all four semi-finalists must travel down from the north of England for this weekend's semi-finals, a move which Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed could cause "chaos" in the capital, in addition to huge expense.

Still, the FA feels the prices offer good value, especially compared to the Champions League final - which will also be held at Wembley on 28 May - with tickets for that event costing between £80 and £300.

so the ticket that cost me £50 for this Saturday is now going to cost me £85 for the exact same seat with the same view
have the FA know understanding of the global recession?

Come the final the ground will be full, no matter who gets there, we know it and the FA certainly know it, if no one went the prices would soon drop but that ain't going to happen, we the fans are our biggest worst enemy continually happy to be fucked in the arse to watch the game we love

Fucking disgusting ; but not unexpected from our clued up, tuned in, fan appreciating FA. Corpulent bloodsucking twats to a man.

Similar thread on here about Chelsea's match day ticket prices

And Utd fans at work were moaning about the Champions League Final prices at Wembley. I think the cheapest ticket prices for that are £80

I hope City don't follow Chelsea with ridiculous pricing. The pressure to do so with the Fair Play regs must be high, but there really would be no point of MCFC if it wasn't accessible to the fans.

i have been arguing from the very beginning that those hit hardest by the fair play regs will be the fans
clubs will put up prices and squeeze the working class guys out
i think that's what twattini and the big clubs actually want, to get rid of the regular fellas (and lasses) and replace them with the well off and well to do
a euro super league for the super rich to jet set around

let's stay in the europa for some proper aways

I struggled to buy for the semi due to twins expected any day now and at those prices im afraid any final would probably be watched on the box!

Disgusting.

If we get there I'm not going a these ridiculous prices.

Well obviously I would and they know people will go so they will charge it. If the tickets were £300 city would sell their allocation so they will charge as much as they can knowing people will pay whatever it was

send them email i did and told them thought they were robbing cunts who did not give a fuck about real fans who make football......why should we pay for their incompetence buiding a new wembley.....they can fuck right off with 22% increase and shove ticket up their smelly southern ass (this was jist of my email)

let these ferkers know how you feel....it will make u feel a little better!
