the sale of F1

I'll give little Hitler a tenner for it.

In 2000, Ecclestone was granted the commercial rights to F1 until the end of 2110 for a one-off fee of $360m, he makes $1.5bn a year from it (and he isnt even making the most of online sales either so that could be increased further). Its like a licence to print money for him, no wonder he's held on for so long the little shit.

Ffs, twenty then.

I lost interest in F1 a long time ago. The competition is won and lost in the techy arena way before any petrol gets burned. It’s then a big parade with only which driver in the dominant team and the minor places to be sorted out on the track, even that is decided by pit stops, mechanical failures and crashes.

I don’t think the current owner has do anywhere near enough to keep it competitive and keep the driver skill element relevant.
Yeah it's so boring. I stopped watching it when I seen Bernie say that any of the 20 drivers are good enough to win the championship, it just matters which car they're given. Dead sport for me now.

I don't know how much he charges a city to host an F1 race but it must be an astronimical amount. Valencia in the end had to give it up because they lost 13 million euros every time it was here. That's despite completely selling out, having over 150,000 attend the weekend and all those tourists coming to the city. It's madness and completely wrong.

He also forced Baku to concrete some of their most historical sites to make the racecourse more attractive to TV. I'd love to know who the private backers who organise the Russian GP too. My money is on the local mafia.
