The simple truth...

Pitch invasions? I seem to remember a certain report that recommended all-seater stadia, and when did we get those fences put up? Wasn't that to stop the idiots getting onto the pitch. The disgraceful behaviour we saw yesterday would have us back to those grim days. And has the move to 'safe-standing' been put back a couple of seasons now?

Think about it logically the league is won, you think these imbeciles have sat there thinking how can we stop city picking up the title, really?

They have whinged about the owners since they bought the club. Their wrath comes and goes and has happened when they have been successful. Now I’m agreeing they have chosen to not do it in an important match for them.

With the ESL shite, other protests by other clubs fans, media coverage( Mr Neville for example) and the general fuckwittery of people who like a bit of bother when an excuse is presented this was a perfect storm. I would imagine a supporters group decided to do a protest like other fans have and a load of pillocks have piled in as well.

The theories from some blues are pretty daft tbh.
If they could do something that stopped us winning the title yesterday, especially if they made it look like something else entirely then yes, I do think it's a strong possibility.

I know it doesn't stop is winning the title, but it does give the team one more think to think about going into tomorrow's match that may not have otherwise been there, i.e had we won the title yesterday we might have been more relaxed for the CL SF.

For sure, had they been turned over yesterday the media would have been saying "Utd hand title to City". You can't tell me none of them thought of that?

Yes, totally agree, that's exactly my take on it. We could have gone into the Paris match totally relaxed knowing we had the title won, now we have the beat Chelsea. OK that's not exactly the case, I think they'll still drop more points and we'll still win other games but it does make a difference, we might not be quite so relaxed as we might have been and that's the point. I don't believe for one second that those twats didn't have our situation in mind when they planned this.
We don’t have to beat Chelsea. We can draw three and lose one of our remaining four games and win the league.

I wasn’t condoning their actions in anyway the whole post was about the reaction to it on here. The idea that it is down to us being better is very cringe. It shows supporters from all clubs can have delusions of grandeur and an amazing lack of self awareness.
So if it's nothing to do with the fact that we'd have won the league had they lost yesterday, why didn't they protest on Thursday?

I know, but the point I'm making is we wouldn't have had to think about Chelsea at all had they lost yesterday, and we could have concentrated solely on the CL. The match being abandoned changes all that.

Today’s riot may have been partly down to the super league and the Glazers but there is one simple truth in all of this: United fans simply cannot handle the fact that they cannot compete with us anymore, they cannot deal with the fact that it is not the 90’s and they are no longer the best. This arrogance has been passed down generations, the same arrogance is the reason why clubs across the country struggle because fans would rather watch them lot on the telly than watch their local team mainly because they aren’t successful, the same reason why you see more United and Liverpool shirts on the streets of places like Carlisle, Colcheter or Plymouth than the shirts of the local teams. They’ve been spoilt and now they can’t handle the fact that they’re not only second in the country but second in their own City. We’ve got everything that they want know: an owner who improves and invests in the City, someone whose created a dynasty, someone whose looked to grow the academy, the Women’s team and other things, they’re still at Carington while we’re at the best training facilities in the country and one of the best in the world. We’ve seen the worst of our team and thank God we’re now seeing the best we may ever see, but don’t forget that it won’t last forever so be grateful for what we have. Thank you Sheik Mansour. The simple truth is they cannot deal with the fact that little Citeh have overtaken them, they didn’t see it coming but now it’s here...

And it’s beautiful!
The truth.

They should take a lesson from Blackpool fans not a penny more campaign. A good half of the fan base boycotted home games and asked away fans and non boycotters to spend no money in the ground on programmes.refreshments etc. Went on for a couple of seasons and they succeeded in the end. At the time would wind my Blackpool supporting friends up about it, but had to admire them.
Mind you look what happened after we got rid of Swales, be careful what you wish for.
I'm not sure they did succeed. The owners at the time milked the club dry, especially from the parachute payment they got from relegation, then were effectively froced to quit when there was nothing left, having been put into receivership by the courts after being told to pay a former minor sharehorder £25m and failing to pay it. They recenly completed a multi-million new home build so they don't seem to have done too badly out of it - by the time they left the club they had bled it dry. That's my take on it anyway.

And what if the gap was 3 points? I’m sure we’d all be crying foul, I’d also expect the club to be lobbying the Prem, we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that a few thousand morons have changed the sporting integrity of a competition, it sets a dangerous precedent & the Premier league should be coming down heavy on it, preferably before tomorrow nights massive game which is being threatened by the same idiots

Already explained. But to expand some groups protest on a Saturday so they don’t miss work and lose money. Protest for a semi or a dead rubber game? Seems logical to pick the dead rubber game no?

Anyhow I give up it was really a cunning plan to annoy City and tell the Glazers they are sick of City winning the league even though we have been outperforming them for years. They chose now and it being right after the ESL shite when other fans have also demonstrated is just a huge coincidence.
