The simple truth...

If they could do something that stopped us winning the title yesterday, especially if they made it look like something else entirely then yes, I do think it's a strong possibility.

I know it doesn't stop is winning the title, but it does give the team one more think to think about going into tomorrow's match that may not have otherwise been there, i.e had we won the title yesterday we might have been more relaxed for the CL SF.

For sure, had they been turned over yesterday the media would have been saying "Utd hand title to City". You can't tell me none of them thought of that?
^^This^^

I wasn’t condoning their actions in anyway the whole post was about the reaction to it on here. The idea that it is down to us being better is very cringe. It shows supporters from all clubs can have delusions of grandeur and an amazing lack of self awareness.

I wouldn’t say it’s entirely down to us being better - although the fact it’s us who’s replaced them at the top of the tree won’t help their mood.

I’d say it’s more about them not being top dog anymore - we all know how smug, entitled and brittle most rags are as we all have the misfortune of knowing a few. The fact is they’re a spectacularly badly run club - at pretty much every level - and their mismanagement has robbed them of the capacity to compete at the top level of the sport.

This is what they’re protesting - their place at the top of the tree has gone, and this simply isn’t what most rags signed up for. They can’t deal with not winning, and they’re having a melodramatic public hissy fit about it!

Yes
City was accused by the fa (Aston fucking villa ) of overpaying players (maximum wage at the time)
And was forced to sell / ban most of our 1904 cup winning side that would have in fact won the double as well that season if it was for a ridiculous rearranged game at Everton after the cup final (2days later!)

utd then picked up most of our banned players (billy meridith )and proceeded to go from nobody’s to win the first of their league titles !

and people think UEFA have got it in for us!
Go on frankie lad.

Likkle City supplanting them hurts. It hurts them bad bad bad. On the week of the UEFA/ESL insurrection, a Rag mate was lamenting about how hated the Glazers & 'Wastewood' are, how decrepit the stadium is & how much they hate having to compete for the league & a place in Europe.

Every complaint was followed by a comparison to City. Imagine being the big bad bully for the best part of two decades, & then being usurped by your favoured victim? THIS is how the Rags view their situation & City.

It's not just the fact we're competing with them, it's the fact they know we're bettering them in every department aside from turnover & attendance. They've grudgingly accepted Sheikh Mansour & his Trillions are here to stay. They've grudgingly accepted Txiki & Soriano are the real deal. They're still stunned that Guardiola is our manager & has spent more time here than at any other club, & seems perfectly happy & at ease.

It kills them that their FFP attempt gave us 'A pinch' back in 2014, but were knocked sideways when CAS fucked off UEFA/G14's 2020 attempt to neuter us. But worst of all isn't the success, it's the way we've gone about it & the football we've played!

My Rag mate was spitting out his grudging admiration for our 22nd Century brand of football which has not only set the Prem alight, but even worse has influenced the way all British teams are playing. Playing out from the back, retaining possession, favouring skillful players over big, strong fast brutes..... It's just NOT the ManUre/English way & it's killing the bastards.

This is why the thought of the Dippers beating them at Old Toilet, & ending their faint title hopes was too much to bear. Stop the match, force City to win the title themselves, have the consolation of knowing they had a small effect on our season by doing this & denying us 4 points is about as much consolation they can hope to eke out of this bad situation.

They know we're going nowhere & will strengthen again in the summer as will they & all their other challengers. Just as any other typical bully, they just can't accept there's someone they can't push around. It's especially worse that it's their former victim & geographically nearest rival. This is why it was so important to have yesterday's Debtors Derby postponed.

The most amazing single thing about that, if you watch it through, is that way into the twentieth century, there is no sign whatsoever of any club from south of the midlands. The first one is Arsenal in the 30s. That just blows me away. And I'm a Londoner by origin. It wasn't simply the people's game. It was the northern people's game.

Today’s riot may have been partly down to the super league and the Glazers but there is one simple truth in all of this: United fans simply cannot handle the fact that they cannot compete with us anymore, they cannot deal with the fact that it is not the 90’s and they are no longer the best. This arrogance has been passed down generations, the same arrogance is the reason why clubs across the country struggle because fans would rather watch them lot on the telly than watch their local team mainly because they aren’t successful, the same reason why you see more United and Liverpool shirts on the streets of places like Carlisle, Colcheter or Plymouth than the shirts of the local teams. They’ve been spoilt and now they can’t handle the fact that they’re not only second in the country but second in their own City. We’ve got everything that they want know: an owner who improves and invests in the City, someone whose created a dynasty, someone whose looked to grow the academy, the Women’s team and other things, they’re still at Carington while we’re at the best training facilities in the country and one of the best in the world. We’ve seen the worst of our team and thank God we’re now seeing the best we may ever see, but don’t forget that it won’t last forever so be grateful for what we have. Thank you Sheik Mansour. The simple truth is they cannot deal with the fact that little Citeh have overtaken them, they didn’t see it coming but now it’s here...

And it’s beautiful!
I think Utd fans do hate to see us winning PL.

But I think it's totally fair for them to do protest when they hate their owner. It's just coincident that the protest happens right on the edge when we going to win PL, and that's it.

I don't think their protest has anything to do with our chance of winning PL, to be honest. They protested against their owner, not ours. Their match was delayed, not ours. If there's any consequence, it's theirs, not ours. So it's totally in their power and responsibility to take that protests, and it's totally fine for me.

We don't rely on their match result to be the champion, that's the level we are being on, so don't bother, guys!

I don't really follow their protests, but if they oppose the owners who take money out of football instead of investing in it, maybe that's the good thing?!

You're looking at yesterday's events through rose coloured specs mate. Trust me, stopping the Dippers at Old Toilet from handing City the title without kicking a ball was what it was all about.

For ManUre fans, yesterday was mission accomplished.
