The South Stand Tonight And The Drum

The singing made the atmosphere last night, not the drum. The atmosphere is getting there slowly with little pockets of singers throughout the block. However the drum is divisive, I personally don't like it and judging by the reaction in 115 last night I'm not the only one.

The atmosphere has a direct coloration to the football being played, no wonder it's getting better! don't really have a problem with the drum to be honest

Yeah fair point, the way we're playing obviously helps.

What I was trying to get across is that last year, although there looked to be a groups of people who wanted to sing in 115, no one had settled in. It was new to every one in there because it was a newly created block. Now however there's some rapport building between groups, its easier to start songs and more people are beginning to join in. If we stick with it, rather than bollocking one another for not joining in it'll get there.

Think we will only see the drum at CL matches.

Think it's too early to introduce it during PL matches.

A softly, softly approach is required.

From a personal point if view, having the drum at CL matches only, if that's what's happening, is a fair compromise in my opinion.

Have we discovered if the drum was organised ?if it was by who and whats the plan ? I don't think it's a coincidence the atmosphere improved when the drum appeared and as long as it keeps the songs going and doesn't overpower I have no problem with it.

I spoke to guy holding the drum and hes not happy as he was abused and called a nonce, at least hes trying something, hes thinking of fucking it off.

I heard the drum briefly and thought it was the Germans. The atmosphere was good last night, the long rendition of singing the Blues was great.

I think the drum was a big success last night.

It'd be great if we could get a long loud 'never felt more like singing the blues' going in the second half against Bournemouth with 54000 in the stadium.

going off the reactions on here and people at the ground the drum worked and helped the atmosphere. he should keep bringing it and not care about the moaners
