last two summers have been a bit lacking, selling of every single academy talent chasing the net spend trophy and going for budget options when we need an injection of top quality. Happy there's a changing of the guard in this role tbh

That costs money. We only spend 1/3 of what we earn. Must keep that net spend at all costs

Nunes is he a winger or a central attacking midfielder?
McAtee .... is he a number 10? What's his strongest position? Right now not even good enough for the sub bench.
We need a back up midfielder to Rodri
Kovacic is ageing and full of mistakes.
No natural right back
Haaland gets injured .. no backup

I mentioned something similar in the thread regarding numbers wise a few weeks back and a few disagreed. One of our bigger overhauls really needs to happen.

Midfield overhaul please. Identify what’s needed and go spend.

We have been prudent but the squad is badly lacking in key areas and midfield is one.

So unless we are not allowed to spend due to financial restrictions go and get the required players to keep us top for another 2/3 seasons.

Scary how poor txiki and the board were last summer refreshing things. Pep also seemingly needs nudged as he keeps maintains he is delighted with everything but Walker is done, Gundo seemingly heading the same way and KDB is likely to leave in the sumner as well.

If the current litigation doesn’t go our way it could be we end up with a notable points deduction. Maybe enough to cause a year away from the riches of champions league football. This would pose a huge issue for the much needed squad adjustments.

He won’t call out players in public. If we can see Walker, Gundo, etc are declining it’s obvious that Pep will, but he’s not going to say that. Pretty certain we’ll be looking at replacements, we have to.

We need Pep to either commit to at least 2 more years or get a new manager in the summer. Can`t have another summer where we fail to address the issues with the squad just because a new coach could be coming in 12 months later.

I expect Walker, Kovacic, Bernardo, Gundogan, and De Bruyne to all be gone within two summers. It wouldn`t surprise me if one of Ederson/Ortega did too. Gonna need a pretty big squad revamp, and that probably won`t happen with a 1-year extension. Kev and Gundo could be leaving on free transfers next summer, won`t be making a net profit on transfers that`s for sure
