The outcome wouldn't have been the same though, because the yank 3 clubs and spurs would never have agreed to join knowing they could be voted out the PL with a 75% vote.
We and Chelsea joined at the last minute apparently and the whole ESL announcement wouldn't have gone ahead if we didn't.

This reminds me of when we got the FFP ban last year and at CAS they gave us a fine because we ridn't disclose the evidence we had to uefa when they charged us.
The club knew it may never go away unless we fought it in court, so we took the "resisting arrest" charge for the greater good.

This is a similar situation, we will look like arseholes for a few weeks but the other fallout wih the other clubs leaves us in a very favourable position moving forward.

COME ON CITY!!!

Pep Guardiola on football calendar: "It’s getting worse, but who cares?. It’s business, money. Just for six teams? No, no. Everyone. FIFA as well. The World Cup - we started with 16, it went up and up and we’re going to play with 50 countries! But it’s OK. UEFA? More games

I don't think they've released a statement like City has but they are out.

Reading between the lines I think City beat them to the punch, but Chelsea tried to get their leaving out in the PR world first.
I would imagine that they spoke to each other yesterday and today. We are the only one to confirm that we are gone at that moment.

The forum crashed for me for awhile. What did I miss?

Reading on Twitter Agnelli didn't actually resign. I know we are officially out, who else is still in it?

I'd love to believe that this was all a genius masterplan and has worked out exactly how we wanted it to from the start.

But I'm sorry, it's a fairytale. It just doesn't make sense.

Team 'surprised and disappointed at people I thought were better than this' for me, thanks.

We are on the side of the Angels right now and that's all that matters
What, dead!?

When Jordan looks in the mirror at the start of the day he sees Clark Gable whereas everyone else sees a degenerate used-car salesman with who's just got off a sunbed. #****
Simon Jordan went to see the doctor because every time he looked in the mirror he got an erection.
The doctor said its normal for you to get an erection when looking in a mirror.
BECAUSE YOU'RE A ****.

Is it time to go for the jugular

It is some what up for debate as to how much the club wanted the ESL but clearly it was not our idea.

We did not have the same worries about competition and I think we know that competition is good for the game and for revenue provided your at the top in the end we are the first to officially withdraw

However I am sure the club wants as many big games but perhaps also values games against so called less clubs in Eastern Europe to add variety

Having said we have not been accepted by UEFA and we have other issues.

So is this part of the plan ? Is this what @tolmie has been on about in the transfer forum and also in some of his cryptic get our own back FFP posts ?

Is it time we go further ? I want Khaldoon or Soriano to come out and say listen we had no choice but to sign up to this but we also had no choice but to pull out

UEFA are racist corrupt etc and here are the examples of how the fixed FFP or remember how they dealt with specific cases of racism or look at Tabas

This could be done in a statement or preferable an in house end of season style interview or even in a parliamentary committee as its seems Boris might want one or is claiming to. Whether that will actually happen if the ESL collapses. His record on actually seeing anything through is not great.
