Hell no! Closed League is disgusting but I wouldn't mind more top games between Top Clubs and want UEFA gone.

Let's be honest CL is boring until march
If only there was some precedent that made each top level European trophy game exciting they could follow…

… rather than chasing money

The big 6 have stopped the Premier League Charter.

Yea it's a clear sign they are preparing for a Super League. Sky is speculating the same. They are buying time

Delayed not stopped.

You post these things then use them to justify your opinion that the ESL will happen later this year. They didn't say that at all. They put a perfectly reasonable argument that it was due to the conflict between the Charter and UEFA's stupid new co-efficient rule. PL clubs can't sign up to both.

The words used were "a glimmer of a possibility" of a new breakaway proposal. There is a glimmer of a possibility I win the lotto tomorrow, but I am not buying a new house just yet.

So if the new rules for champs league come in it will mean 2 teams who do not finish in top four can go into the champs league purely based on you have done in the past in the champs league!

It will benefit us if when pep goes we drop of the pace but am still against it nothing should be rewarded for past success!

Yes.

Interesting to speculate where this might have come from.

In Spain do you see Barca and RM finishing outside the CL places?
How about Juve and Inter in Italy?
Or PSG in France?
What about Bayern Munich?

So who might be at risk of regularly finishing outside the CL places and might accordingly want to change the rules?

Bottom line all the teams who has been in champs league don’t want to drop out just because of the drop in money if they do.

Back on the agenda again next week:

Thanks.

Are Real Madrid and Barcelona including themselves In this unfair advantage?

There will be criticism of the quality of football in the current Uefa competitions including its premium Champions League; what the ESL and A22 say is the failure of Uefa’s financial fair play regulations; and the unfair advantage of state-owned clubs.

In its document the ESL rebel three say: “Uefa has close ties to certain club owners from non-member states who are commercial sponsors of certain competitions and clubs, are the main buyers of media rights for competitions operated by Uefa and who sit on Uefa’s executive committee, while chairing the ECA without any transparent election process.

“Since within the EU a club cannot benefit from state aids [sic] from its own member state … why should it be allowed that the football market be disrupted, to the exclusive benefit of a few state-owned clubs, because of state aids coming from non-member states?”

Their arguments are just a desperate attempt to get fans behind any new proposals. They think the only thing fans didn't like was the closed-shop, permanent member proposal. I suspect they will again have misread the room, as well as what is likely to happen in the ECJ.

I particularly liked this bit:

"the ESL backers also claim that their new model will allow the creation of competitive clubs in European cities that do not currently have them – citing Luxembourg and Dublin as examples."

Whoopee doo .....

Franchising then. Would they want 2 clubs in the same city? Rags like a tax haven so they can fuck off to Luxembourg.

They’ll approach FC United next to represent Manchester.

Breaking News:

Manchester City could face an immediate ban from European football. UEFA have announced that an investigation will take place over an alleged unofficial Russian sponsorship deal. The probe was instigated after a UEFA official representing Liverpool realised the club were selling Vodka at the stadiums bars.
