there not smillin anymore,a few of my rag mates are refusin to talk football , THERE TOOOOO BUSY???????
for 20+ years ive had GLORY GLORY and loads more beside, as soon as it looks like the BLUES are lookin like champions, and rags like a joke( u know what i mean) every rag wants to run away and hide.
ARE THEY REALLY THAT SHALLOW, i would talk about football with them when we where losin at halifax, and it looked like the end of the world was just around the corner.
they would talk with me when they won the TREBLE, and i would argue that citys win v gillingham was FAR more an IMPOTANT issue....
i hope the next 20+ years they go through what we had too, lets see if there still shoutin GLORY< GLORY, then, somehow i dont think that will happen.....they really piss me off at times the wankers......

I remember a few years ago, Utd Plc were beating Porto 4-0 at home in the Champs League on a Tuesday night, and we were getting beat away at Portsmouth in the Championship (I'm 99% sure it was Portsmouth but please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!). The irony wasn't lost on me at the time, as it summed up the difference in fortune of the two teams in the mid 90's.

But last night struck a similar chord too, except in our favour!

I know it was a friendly, etc etc etc, but no-one beats Barcelona at the nou Camp, regardless of what team they put out - in my opinion, a fantastic result for us, both in Spain and at Turf Moor.

Quite simply.....YES.
Shallow, small minded, glory hunting, plastic twats the lot of them.

A Couple of weeks ago when we were losing to Kaiser Chiefs and Orlando Pirates and drawing at Barnsley rags at work were relentless in City are back and all that shite, my response was a dignified silence.

I walked into work this morning and got dont say fuck all you blue twat it was only a friendly against Barcelona reserves my reply was would Messi get in your reserves? cue silence eventually the response was well "fuck off" wether he would or not it was still a friendly

I leave it 10 minutes and then say do you think your missing Ronaldo and will Owen prove to be a worthwile investment looks on there faces was fuckin priceless.

Quitest morning at work since Barca kicked there hypocrite arses in the CL final.

Marvellous long may it continue.

Just discovered what the banner at OT is about, thanks to Eurosport:

"Robbie Blake's stunning first-half volley was enough to hand Burnley their first win in the top flight for 33 years."

:)

Also, how many Rag shirts have you seen knocking about?

Not many this season and if their results don't improve, you won't see any at all.

They will hide in this situation because they have no experience of banter when they're on the receiving end. The natural reaction is to avoid the confrontation. They're not emotionally equipped to deal with it. It's easy to bask in Reflected Glory but a hell of a lot more difficult when you're covered in Reflected Embarrassment.

We deal with it easily because we've had to. They're frightened about what could be coming and they want their mummies.

Bless.

I'm sure we were at home to Pompey, the traffic was horrendous that night. It would have been 96/97, the season before we went down to the third tier.

Yep, after a bit of digging on the stats sites, it was Wed March 5th 1997. Rags beat Porto 4-0 and we drew 1-1 at home to Pompey.

Also, do you remember when we played some micky mouse cup game at maine road against mansfield I think, the scum played a european game at home on the same night as us. A picture on the back page of the mirror showed both grounds, I think we had about 8000 and they had 50000. Memory not brilliant but I am sure someone will fill in the gaps. Would of been nice to see the pictures of the grounds last night and the results. City 94000 at barca and 20000 at burnley.....THE TIDE HAS CHANGED.........

Jeez, that's brought back some memories, the traffic really was bad and we ended up in a bar because of it. The bosslady at the time didn't believe that I'd only been to the match when I came home after 3am absolutely steaming (with the hangover from hell in the post). :-)

Happy days.
