I love the sheer scale of something like that, and the stories of those that were passengers on it. For man to create such a feat of engineering was remarkable at that time.
And for the fact that such a natural calamity should befall it.

I remember seeing the Ballard films when it was first rediscovered. The images, although set against such a tragedy, are hypnotic and eerie.
 
There is an interesting story about a novel that was written in 1898 which pretty much mirrored the sinking

Have read that before, but it still sends shivers down my spine.
