Too early in the season for anything, but being only 3 points off the top at this stage, having had players come back late and having played the top teams away is a great position to be in.

Chelsea look the real deal, which was expected. Liverpool will always be there and have the help to keep them them there.

But we seem to be picking up real rhythm now, the desire is still there, if we can get Torres back and Sterling to his top level, we will be there for it. Plus, we've not had our 2 week covid break yet.

Might sound abit harsh, but I think keeping Laporte out the team will do it for us

We'll be much more solid at the back, and that should give us more freedom to get goals going forwards

92 to win it IMO

Our best centre back pairing is Stonesy and Rúben. No question about it. That said, Laporte is no mug, and would get into most other teams, no problem. So I think he'll ask to move. And there's no League Cup to keep people a little bit happy this year.

Do the maths and CFC are on for 90 points at the moment.
They're very solid 90% of the time but have a lot of games to go between now and the season's end and, like everyone else, seem to be capable of dropping really random bollocks seemingly out of nowhere. It'll drag their average down.

But 11 games is a decent sample size, includes a couple of a random dropped bollock, and are still on for 90. Any team with an aspiration to win the league should be aiming for 95 to be safe this season imo.

I'm happy to stick to my original prediction of 80-84 points being enough. Winner (hopefully us) will be in the high 80s and 5-6 points clear at the end of the season.
I think those suggesting totals in the 90s will be required are way off the mark - runner up has only reached 90 points once in the PL era (the epic 98 beating 97 in 2018-19) and it needs a two horse race with third miles off the pace for that to happen. The three horse race feel to this season should keep the required points lower.

Feeling confident with 85-89 points
City, Chelsea and Liverpool look a class above the rest of the league, would really like to see Chelsea and Dippers drop a handful of points soon and City run away with it

If we can win all our games between now and New Year, I'd fancy us to have a lead of some description.

Aston Villa will be tough in midweek, having played basically same team for a week.
Said the same thing today. A majority of the players in the starting XI today have played all or most of the other 2 games this week.
Gerard seems to have got a tune out of them as well

I certainly think we will have a tougher game than we had today.

Especially so, if Ake starts now because Laporte is suspended again and Stones is under the weather.

Hoping Phil will be back. We will need his energy this week.

Berni carried us to glory in this fixture last season, let's hope for a repeat
