Palace away to get 19.

Ironically, Selhurst Park was where our record run of 18 consecutive wins (since equalled by Liverpool) came to an end in the Centurions season.

Also ironically Palace were the last side that beat us before this streak began, so breaking it by beating them, or losing to them again would both be quite interesting outcomes.

United were the first win in our current streak and could be our 18th win.

6 more in top half of the table, and 10 more in bottom half. Chelsea, Arsenal and leicester are already done. We are in a good place.. If we create a 10 point lead with liverpool their players will mentally check out which is really good.

Fortunately, there's an important difference between last and this season's fixture schedule.

Last season there was no winter break, plus we reached the final of the league cup. The team peaked in February and by April there were signs some players were losing form, most notably Rodri and Cancelo, but also Gundogan, Bernardo...

This season we are many points clear already in January, will have a winter break and are out of the league cup. Pep and the players will be better positioned to be in top form in April and May.

85 pts are likely to be enough for the league title. IF we secure the title early, Pep will rotate a lot in the final months and we are likely to drop points, so we'll probably manage to win around 92 pts.

One reason we may drop points is that we don't have many midfielders. Imagine Pep decides to rest the likes of Rodri, Bernardo, KDB, Foden... before crucial cup games. We'll field significantly weakened teams in midfield in the final weeks of the PL, IF we are still in the CL and the FA Cup. So, we are quite unlikely to win 95+ pts, imo.
If we are lucky enough to be able to rotate then I hope pep does not tinker too much. Momentum was lost at the tail end of last season and we limped home imo.

They lose today that’s 11 points behind us if they win there game in hand then they play us they win back to 8 but 16 games to go 48 points play for that’s a lot.

I think it’s fair to say it’s now very much a two horse race. Still not getting ahead of myself 8 points isn’t a huge amount especially when we still have to play Liverpool but obviously can’t deny we are in a very good position. Think we will need 90+ points to win it

8 pts is a solid advantage (if Liverpool win their game in hand), but covid and injuries can change the situation quickly. So, we can be happy about our position in the league, it's fantastic, but there is no need do declare the league title done. Let's hope we will win vs Southampton and Liverpool will drop points at Palace next weekend. Then we will be really, really close.

I think the League is nearly done, but without trying to sound greedy I want us to win the CL this year. However, like yourself I have some concerns about maintaining form/momentum going into late April/May in the later stages of the CL. This team and coach deserve to be crowned Champions of Europe.
I think if we win the CL and the PL this season to make it four titles out of five then it undeniably rubber stamps this team as the greatest English side ever and we and Pep will finally get the plaudits we deserve.

We're essentially in the same position as United were in 2012. Effectively eight points clear, but still got to play our nearest rival. Liverpool win at the Etihad and the gap would be a decidedly twitchy 5 points in a league filled with obdurate, bus parking, banana skins (Palace, Brighton, Southampton, Brentford, etc). Those fixtures fill me with far more trepidation than United, Spurs or West Ham. Getting through the next 3 or 4 games unscathed might be crucial

Chelsea are probably out of it now but Liverpool are very much still a threat.

If they win their game in hand, the gap is 8 points.

If they beat us at our place, the gap is 5 points.

And then there's still 15 other games to play.

Liverpool would then need to overturn a 5 point gap with 45 points still to play for.

Definitely not over yet.

Main thing for me is that we've played all the top sides away from.home already

Liverpool have dropped 16 pts vs the current top 10 and only 2 pts vs the bottom half teams.

By contrast, City have dropped only 5 pts vs the current top 10 and 5 pts vs the bottom 10. City have performed much, much better against the top 10 than Liverpool: we have won 31 pts and Liverpool only 14 pts. Sure, we have played 2 more games against the top 10 than Liverpool (twice vs Leicester and Arsenal), but the difference is still very impressive.
