First half Arsenal today reminded me of City a few years back, and yesterday City reminded me of Arsenal a few years back.
This 100% we used to blow teams away in the first half ……

Used to score so many in opening 15 mins …
Really start on front foot.

Now think we’ve only scored in opening 20 mins 4 games .. shocking

I just can’t see Arsenal going the full season without a significant blip.. it’s not in that clubs DNA to do things the easy way. Also I think they may start to feel the pressure as the big prize gets closer

Whether we have it in us this season to be there and to capitalise when it happens is debatable though

They look a lot like our 2018 team and we didnt let up Until it was a Formality.
wasnt our 2018/19 team 7 points behind liverpool. I dont think they are as good as those levels personally. Yes they got the result today and as shit as spurs were they still had multiple chances to score in that second half.

Arsenal also have a better goalkeeper. Put Ederson today in Arsenal team and the result would be different.

Do you really care about his distribution more than his abilities as shot stopper? At the end he is a goalkeeper.
Yes, of course. Like I am more bothered about our defenders being good at passing. Until we are no longer a team that has 70% possession those things are more important than shot stopping and defending.

Ederson is one of the main reasons we have been so good because he acts as an eleventh outfield player when we have possession when nearly all other teams we play, if not all of them, only have ten. If Arsenal had Ederson they’d be an even better team with the ball.

Plus he’s a good shot stopper. Hes not the best around at that but he’s still very good. He’s also better at coming for crosses.

They're nowhere near that good. They thrashed opponents week in week out and quite often matches were over after 15 minutes... you don't see Arsenal doing that

It is something that I have considered more and more this season. As a blue said to me in Dortmund to win the CL you need an elite keeper, had not thought about it before then.
Eddies passing does not seem to be as vital as before and his goalkeeping skills in isolation are not the best.
I said today to my lads that I didnt think Ederson would have saved the ones Arsenals keeper did today.

Lloris will be like 1970s Gordon Banks on Thursday btw.

Well I do understand your point of view. However, I do not like the slow build from the back using the goalkeeper's abilities in passing. For what the most important skill for a goalkeeper is being a shot stopper. I understand the concept of having a goalkeeper that suits City's playing style. In addition, Ederson is not good at stopping crosses or coming out of his area, this is actually one of his weaknesses and we saw that clearly in the Derby
