Tomorrow's atmosphere in Madrid will put us in good stead for a screaming Goodison on Sunday.
Will be interesting between now and then how many times the media fronted by Neville bring up Rodri's handball from last season though

It’s more whinging and moaning with the odd chant of Everton, Everton, Everton.

Everton were never getting relegated; they never do.
Had they lost tonight, they would have needed to win 2 from 3 to avoid the drop, which they would have done as they always escape.
As they won tonight they only need one win from 3.
Thus our chances of winning at Goodison have just gone up!!
Burnley and Sunderland played that game for years, it eventually caught up with them both.

Imagine if we’d won ten league games in a row, we would have gone to Goodison with even more confidence than they have now.

But there’s no denying today’s result at Brighton has given the Everton players a massive physiological boost and self believe. Another defeat today would have compounded their belief in not winning enough of their remaining games to stay up.

Difficult to know if the Everton result has made it harder for us but the way I see it. FACT : Everton really have to win. That means they will have to play a more open game against us to get anything. That of course could well play into our hands. We wll have more space to do the business so Im looking at it in a positive way.

On a plus point, at least Everton will attack rather than siting back and defending. And City aren’t Brighton.
Why would this result make them attack?
All their goals were from counters which is the same thing they would do.

Think this result helps us. Dyche would have looked at remaining games and targeted their games against Wolves and Bournemouth as where they would have picked points up. Anything against Brighton and us would have been a bonus but now the pressure on them to get even a point against us been diluted somewhat. Their fans think think they have done enough already to stay up, we score first on Sunday we win comfortably but their fans won’t be as pissed as they know they have two easier games to follow. 35 points might be enough to stay up this year, fat Sam reckoned 34 would see Leeds stay up!

If our Chumps Leagues games had been Wed and Tues I`d have been worried about Everton. But the extra 2 days of Tues and then Wed make all the difference and we will go stronger then most think at Woodison.

Brighton looked totally fatigued. The fact that they play us midweek does us a favour. They`ll be knackered again and City will be the last team they want to play.

Rewind 12 months.

You were saying everything you're saying now back then.

Come on.

We're going for the treble, we have a fully fit squad (hopefully stays that way) the players, manager & club want it and they know what to do.

Let's beat Madrid then concentrate on Sunday

Of course they are going to attack, be it counter attacking or normal attacking. Being at home with their fans behind will only galvanise them. I’m not saying that’s a good thing for Everton as it will play into our hands and hopefully leave spaces we can exploit.

The 40 points mantra certainly seems to be a thing of the past. Last time it was required was 2010/11.

Fucking hell mate, you’ve got a good memory. Care to elaborate? :-)

All I’m saying is today’s result will give the Everton players and their fans more belief that they can get a result, even a draw against City on Sunday. I’m not saying Everton will do that. But today’s performance and victory at Brighton has given the Everton players a massive psychological boost.

Surely not! ;-)

We must have got into a spat?

Apologies if I did.

Yes, we’re already playing the 90 minutes + injury time out in our minds.
