How many points will be needed to win the league?

There’s a reason why a 3 peat and a treble happen so rarely and a 4 peat has never happened- they are hard, difficult things to do! The biggest issue is rebuilding your squad (no squad/first team remains constant over a 4 year period) without a drop in output. If we are successful this season we need to explore the magnificence of it in that context, in much the same way as we should view a less successful (but no way not competitive) result to this campaign. I would put our chances of winning the league at this point as 50-50.

People are getting hysterical this year.
If we don’t win it so what. Won’t be the 1st time and we don’t have a divine right to.
Bayern, Juve and Real don’t win their leagues every year.
Personally, I’m not surprised we are performing like we are after the huge treble effort last year on the back of a massively sapping season the year before when we lost to Real in the semis but won the league
You’re right, although Bayern have won theirs nine times in a row!

I'm quite relaxed about it. The only thing filling me with fear is the thought of the scum winning it, and the wankfest over Klopp that would ensue. I mean, look at the clown running about thumping his chest last night after beating Luton. Hulk Hogan behaviour.

I've said all season and since last Summer that winning either one of the big 2 trophies would be a successful season this year, after our achievements of the last few.

I'm just not feeling it this year in terms of the title and think with the way things have gone the silly points that we've thrown away, the way Liverpool have played average in a lot of games and had a lot of injuries but still seem to win these games, the Klopp final season factor, and looking at the 2 run ins, that Liverpool are favourites.
All the more reason to think we might do it. We've become a team built for the run in although how I'd love to have Gundogan back to lead the charge.

It's still in our hands, entering the home straight. Given the ropey autumn we had, I'm not sure we could ask for much more right now. Trips to the cultists, Spursy and the Amex will be tough; no argument from me on that score. But you know what; we're not a bad side. And they won't be looking forward to facing us either.
Said the same to my Mrs only yesterday. The others will surely fear playing us more than us fearing them.

Media already talking about a dipper quadruple and they've not won a trophy yet
I think that months of quadruple hysteria in the media ultimately has a detrimental effect on a team's chances of pulling it off. I think that very possibly played a part with us more than once and two years ago the dippers ended up without either of the two major prizes - not that we didn't deserve to win the league that season. 12 months ago we were spared that by going out of the Carabao in January and were almost able to creep up to the treble by stealth with it hardly being mentioned by the media as a possibility until Arsenal's collapse in April.
What irritates me more is that describing any treble or quadruple that includes the Thursday night nonsense needs investigating by Trading Standards!

I want to believe, but my spider senses are telling me the league will manipulate a new winner. Either Arsenal or Liverpool. Both have compelling stories to sell the league to the worldwide masses.
I'm old and jaded, and realistic.

Same argument has been said every year and yet we continuously triumph.

The lack of clean sheets over the season will be more likely the reason.

Sort that issue out and we will be the team to beat once again.

Expect in the coming weeks we’ll see what Pep’s ‘go to’ team is, who he picks when the chips are down, and I fully expect that to include Grealish who I think is going to be huge for us. He might not be a stat padder but as with Bernardo he keeps possession and were more able to sustain attacks and wear teams down.

Ederson
Walker Dias Ake
Stones Rodri
Bernardo Foden KDB Grealish
Haaland
