madness how much Haaland was overplayed this season largely due to the decision selling Alvarez and replacing Alvarez with Mubama who was released by West Ham.

Haaland injury happened in late minutes of the Newcastle game around 70-75th min and subbed in 85th, why the fuck he was even on the pitch in second half in a game where we were 3-0 up in 33rd min already?
4 days before 2nd leg of CL tie...
Not sure if this caused the injury but you are spot on given the mins he had played he should have been off on the hour at the latest.

If somebody would have told me last year that I'd be checking Forest and Bournemouth results in March to check we'd be securing CL football I'd have called them mental
Yeah but that's where we're at. It will be same Tuesday and Wednesday too we then play Forest. The saving grace for me is the last 10 games. Even taking into account the poor form we should be collecting 6 or 7 wins and a couple of draws which should be good enough for 4th or 5th.

Ok, remaining fixtures:

Spurs (A) - L
Forest (A) - L
Brighton (H) - W
Leicester (H) - W
United (A) - L
Palace (H) - W
Everton (A) - D
Villa (H) - L
Wolves (H) - W
Soton (A) - W
Bournemouth (H) - D
Fulham (A) - W

Now, it should be noted that the above pessimistic basis (20 pts) is actually the same rate of points accrual as the season so far : ~1.69 pts per game.

So, finish on 64 pts. Arsenal are 9 ahead, and if we lose to Forest they are potentially 6 ahead. Us and Bournemouth duking it out for 4th come the end of the season :)

We could very conceivably lose our next two.
We seem to be clueless in how to create goal scoring chances without Haaland, going by the last two games.

Big game tomorrow- we need to win to set the right tone for the rest of the season.

We can’t afford to get into a situation where we need to win four or five on the bounce because we won’t be able to do it.

Heading for 67 points which would get us 3rd in an incredibly close battle for top 5 amongst many teams.

Lower points total finishing higher this season as everyone is beating everyone with the exception of Arsenal and Liverpool.
CL is important for the obvious cashflow situation. Don't think many of us envisaged this scenario at the start of the season in all honesty.

It’s crazy to see we are predicted to get only 67 points after our last few years averaging around 90 points. It’s some drop off.

Let’s hope it’s just this season. It would be funny if we stillwon the FA Cup with all our problems but I suspect top 5 is the priority.

Top 4 fa cup and beat all charges would be pretty good in my opinion

Fair do's. It's a bit tedious at times reading the "we were always going to have an off season" being proclaimed by some posters now that it's actually happened. Not many, if any at all, said it in the summer. But hey ho this is where we're at. A CL finish and with a bit of luck the FA Cup isn't too bad from this position.
The losses this season have been one thing. Some of our defeats though have been horrendous, both in performance and scorelines. I'm positive the summer will address a lot of our issues.

Another huge 3 points.. now upto 47 points.

11 games left

If we can somehow get 24/33 possible remaining.. that'll be huge!

We still need to be down-to-earth, it is more likely that we will fight with Chelsea for fourth place, than with Forrest for third, even worse if we lose to them away from home in the next game (btw they have the second best record at home in the league).

However, I believe that the mitigating circumstance is that Chelsea have a tougher schedule than us until the end of the season.

Two tough games coming up, hopefully we can beat Forest to get closer to them, and then we have a nice run where I'd expect us to win 7 or 8 of our last 10 or 11 which I think will see us finish 2nd 3rd or 4th.
