It was never mean't to compare and the original post had nothing to with anything you are talking about. You've took it way off tangent as you somehow became all precious about some of the figures I quoted.Speaker said:I would be highly surprised if the prize money, gate receipts, and increase in merchandise sales comes anywhere close to your initial outlay. Comparing it to Spurs who in a season sold £100m worth of playing staff, and replaced them with £70m of playing staff is ridiculous. Arguably, the value of your squad increased by £400m, whereas ours dropped by £30m in a comparative period. They are in no way comparable.
Ironically I see that Talkshite are now talking about "Tottenham's new found riches" because we've spent £23m so far this summer, even though we've sold £15m worth of players already. I'm seriously starting to think that If your name is not Man Utd, then the media only think you're playing fair if you sign people on a free.
Rumour has it we've sold/are in the process of selling 25% of the club to PSGs owners for £230m. Almost pays for the stadium which is nice :) Makes our valuation about £920m though, which to be honest, looks way off. Thought we'd be more £500m at most tbh. Still, Levy has an incredible knack at taking people's money.
I tell you what, I'll talk net spend when every man and his dog do the same about our club instead of just quoting the 'Billion' bollocks. That fair?
PS. When did you sell 100 mil worth of playing staff and bring 70 mil worth in?
