I dont think ive ever seen Carroll hoof a ball

True, he'll be the one getting on the end of the hoofed balls!
Last season when they had the top pairing passers it was jaaskelinen to Carroll v tottenham and many other clubs. Not much has changed lol

Its a boring myth that we just play long ball, we actually play really good football, reason we bough Jarvis, J.cole and now downing is to run at players and supply crosses for Nolan and Carroll

Last season :

These are the average number of long balls played, on average, this season by the teams who finished in the top four:

Champions Manchester City (54), Manchester United (56), Arsenal (49), Tottenham (61).

As for the rest of the Premier League, there are some eye-catching statistics among the other sides.

Newcastle (78), Everton (69), Reading (67), Wigan (67), West Ham (65) , Chelsea (65) Fulham (64), West Bromwich (64), Aston Villa (62), Sunderland (62), Norwich (60), QPR (59), Stoke (59), Swansea (55) and Southampton (51)

Presume your assumption comes from the fact Big Sam got this unfair tag when he was Bolton manager, but i watch west ham home and away and this is not our style of play. Good passing football and our 2 goals last weekend was from passing build ups.

To be honest , it wouldnt bother me if we did just hoof it as long as we win, but the fact is we dont.

if i were a spurs fan i'd want them out of this competiton asap thats if there serious for a top 4 spot, they have every chance of finishing 4th with or without bale but this comp will see them on a hike around europe which will take its toll on the squad there not the finished article yet and they need that champions lgu money

Tbf he scored but it was hardly down to him.

Townsend is having a great game.

Andros Townsend is a very good player indeed.

I think he's going to have a very important season.
