He sure was mate, but i'm just trying to stress to the OP that the signings are of a similar ilk, as we had come from oblivion and all of a sudden had Wanchope on our books, much like Stoke now. The OP seems to have forgotten this, by the looks of it.
 
Very good signing for them, will suit thier style of "football"
Few years ago i would have been very happy with us signing him, shows how far, how quickly we have come
 
I don't rate him at all, not even for stoke. His goalscoring record for a striker is very poor and he isn't very mobile, althoug hhe can hold the ball up fairly well.

I am amazed that he will be going for around the 9m mark

I think it was yes, very good header of the ball. Just makes me piss how people have the nerve to mock a club of Stoke's size for the transfers they make. Can only come to one conclusion yet again that the OP never supported us when we were signing the Wanchope's, a player who at the time was a big, big signing for us. Stoke are in a similar position now, infact no they are in a better position as they now go into their 3rd campaign and look to be adjusting and evolving their style of football. Even after 20 trophies and if Messi ever came, i'd never mock a club for their signing in the way the OP has, because i've seen where we've come from and who we have bought. Neutral fans must look at fans like this and grow an ever increasing feeling of hatred towards us, as its as rag-like as it gets a comment like that.
 
Good signing for stoke.

Fits in perfectly with their style of play, better than Beattie, Kitson and Fuller so also improving their squad.

How much you reckon he will go for ? 5-7 million ?
 
Good signing. Very much a stoke type of player big physical player puts himself about. Hes not prolific but if he stays injury free (which has been his problem) good for 10 - 15 goals a season.

Good value for £8 million low risk signing in the scheme of things.

Stoke are a solid Prem side now, you can t see ay chance of them going down will finish 14 - 9th imo.
