Who's been watching it? Just caught up on last nights, definitely the best show on TV at the moment.

Plus its one of them post apocalyptic storylines where they've managed to keep it interesting but I suppose thats what you should expect from the director of Shawshank Redemption. They've stopped it going stagnant and mixed it up with the main characters.

Next weeks episode looks a good one.

Re: The Walking Dead

the show has a ridiculous amount of holes and inconsistencies, but if you choose not to analyze it (it's a science fiction show, the writers are wrong not to) it is entertaining enough. It could be oh so much better, however.

-the shooter they take as hostage, spike through his leg, walking with no or minimal limp the rest of the season.
-zombies either walk, run, or sneak attack at the writers convenience. No consistency.
-can sometimes sniff out a human or blood from miles away, others walk past when laying under a car or a pile of trash.
-and of course, in the last episode with Rick and Shane searching the body for miles, and end up in a field that can be seen from the farmhouse.

this type stuff is annoying, but I still enjoy it.

I agree there are many inconsistency's but in terms on entertainment I do think its good, considering its the first TV show to attempt a long running show in the Zombie apocalypse genre. I guess they don't look into the finer detail too much, but the thing on a whole is very good.

Re: The Walking Dead

I thought it was shown on FX over here? Unless they show it on both in which case, it hasn't finished on FX yet so it won't be on 5 for a while.

I think there's more. The following things I did find confusing <Spoiler Alert>:

1) They say not to let zombie blood get on your skin. Yet then they cover themselves in zombie guts and blood to escape (and conveniently starts to rain the very moment they step outside). And then Andrea is drenched in blood while holding her zombie sister.
2) Daryl re-using the arrows for his bow after taking out zombies. Then proceeds to shoot it up a guy's ass, with supposedly no ill-effects. It's not like he disinfects the arrows every time he re-uses it. Afterwards, he himself gets injured by his arrow while falling down a slope. Nothing happens to him.
3) Supposedly the walkers can smell humans, yet in many instances the survivors sneak up behind them with nobody noticing, and only gets caught most of the time when a zombie "sees" them..
4) One scene where a zombie intelligently uses a rock to break a window. Yet, we are told that the "virus" only restarts the brain-stem, only for movement and other minimal functions. The brain is effectively still dead.

Otherwise, I find it an interesting show. The contrasting personalities of Rick and Shane is the highlight of this show. A fight between righteousness and survival instincts. The fact that everything Shane predicted has come true till now (never mind that he acts crazy) makes Rick on the losing side. Also the humans Vs humans plot is developing nicely..

As a poster mentioned on another thread, It would have been great if they had converted the Zombieland movie into a TV series - a kind of horror comedy genre..

Re: The Walking Dead

There's bits different to the TV series then them of the graphic novels...

Good watch looking forward to the last episode of season 2 on Friday should be interesting....

*SEASON 1 SPOILER*

So during the first season where they find that lab before they escape (when it's set to self purge mode) the scientist tells Rock something but no-one (including the viewers) hear what he says... Just wondering if anyone has any theories on what might of been said?

Re: The Walking Dead

I don't think you can argue with some of the inconsistencies but I don't get too hung up about them. Since playing resident evil and watching the original dawn of the dead as a kid I've had a thing for zombies so this is right up my street. The second part of the second series and the first series have been brilliant, the first part of the second series was too slow and boring so it's good to see that it has picked up the pace.
