Just watched it all again over the last two weeks. Utterly, utterly brilliant. Can't begin to express how good it was. I didn't catch it first time around, and must admit to getting a bit annoyed at all the hype (I watched one episode and likened it to Hill St Blues - what a tool).

They never hid from reality, or softened it up.

Completely agree blue, brilliance from start to finish. Season 4 the best for me.

I re watched over the space of a fortnight only a couple of months ago

It is the series by which I always judge others by it is easily the best ever made all characters are well written and equally well acted.

Yeah, I agree. My favorite show ever. It just gets better and better with each episode
