Dzeko and Kolarov. The two Balkans have been amazing so far. Dzeko for obvious reasons but I have really been impressed with Aleks this season. Some great goals, great assists and great performances. Yesterday, they both came off the bench and changed the game. Dzeko got two and Kolarov gave a great pass to Aguero which led to the goal and cleared the ball of the line in the last minutes. Well done , and I hope they continue their form.

As blatantly obvious as it was that Hughes was shit it is that Kolarov and Dzeko are class. Sometimes posters on here just need to step back and look at the big picture.

No they shouldn't.

Clichy > Kolarov.
Aguero & Tevez > Dzeko.

They've been playing very well recently but Clichy, Aguero and Tevez offer much more than Dzeko and Kolarov on a consistent basis.

Regarding Kolarov, why doesn't Mancini start him further forward. Some of his crosses are simply amazing. No one is the Premier league can whip in a ball like him.

Agreed but looking back at some of the posts in particular Kolorov he would not make a Gorton 11 he is that shit

I still would not trust Kolarov as a left-back against a good team but he has improved quite a lot. Clichy still first choice for me though, a left-back has to primarily defend unless we play 3-5-2 when there is an extra central defender to cover.

Because then we'd have to change a system that has worked well since the FA Cup semi-final over a year ago. We tried a 3-5-2 with Kolarov in a slightly more attacking role and it didn't work. Starting with Kolarov on the left side of a four in midfield would mean we'd have to sacrifice Silva or Nasri's place in the team.

Kolarov is happy with his role at the club now he's featuring a little more but he'll never offer pace, the ability to prevent crosses coming in from the right-hand side or the ability to use both feet confidently like Clichy can. Admittedly, Kolarov's crosses are much better than Clichy's but they're only really required when we're chasing a game. Kolarov and Dzeko are suited to a much more direct style of football than what we play from the beginning of most fixtures.
