Thieves dig tunnel to steal from Salford cash machine

Thieves built a 50ft (15m) tunnel to steal a "significant amount" of money from a cash machine in Salford.

The theft happened on Friday at Tesco on Liverpool Road, Eccles, between midnight and 06:00 GMT, police said.

The raiders tunnelled under nearby wasteland overnight and into the shop, where they stole cash boxes. They then escaped back through the tunnel.

This had me laughing a bit ;-)

Police said they were looking for "people acting suspiciously on Friday night, possibly covered in soil".

I'm not having a dig at them, it's very clever but easy for the police to pin the crime on them

By the looks of that picture they must have been bricking it

Jokes aside anyone hazard a guess to how much they got away with?
