Things I am looking forward to.

1. The partnership of Stevie Ireland and Gareth Barry!
2. The aerial threat of Roque Santa Cruz from corners / free-kicks.
3. The improvement of Robinho through having one year to settle in.
4. See point 2 again if Lescott signs for us.
5. See point 5 - the potential partnership of Nedum and Lescott in the centre.
6. Bojinov (if still here) being fully fit and making an impact when called upon.

I think MH really, really needs to hit the ground running this coming season and anything below top six and it's cheerio for him come end of the season. Personally I don't think that'll be the case because I think he'll get it right, you can see the kind of team he's building now.

The rag at work who's given me daily condescending shite since the day I walked through the door finally admitting that his club are skint and in decline.

He cracked today and admitted that he just couldn't live with the idea of us being able to out-bid them for players.It's all been a "joke" with him up to now....The reality is finally hitting home,he's talking more about us than them,he's nervous and has recently started shouting about Blatter being right and introducing "wage caps."
It's amazing to watch.He simply doesn't know how to cope-there's a big gap in his social development in that he's always supported the "top dog" and just doesn't know how to react to the challenge.It never enterered his head that people would ever be laughing at the efforts of his club to sign players-in the way he did when we were signing Mills and Thatcher.

I'm really looking forward to going in tomorrow morning and asking him if they've signed Owen yet.
