Things that are pretty much obsolete.

Paperboys.

I know they're still out there but when I was a kid pretty much everyone I knew had a paper round.

Even proper newsagents (not convenience stores) nowadays are fairly sparse.
And papers. The local rags near me have gone weekly rather than daily. Is the MEN still published daily? - I remember when it was the primary source of news about City.

Incandescent torches/flashlights.
I'm a bit of a flashlight nerd, so I've seen the dramatic change in flashlights over the last 10/15 years.
Now a 4" long digital flashlight fitted with rechargeable lithium batteries can put out 800/1000 lumens.
Which will throw a beam out to 350 yards, or completely light up a pitch black room.
So the old incandescent lights are next to useless in comparison.

Flashlight forums should be banned!
I only joined to get some info on the newer LED flashlights for a hike up Snowden.
I planned on buying just one or two. Nearly a grand later and dozens of the things (including batteries/chargers) i realised how bloody addictive the things are!

Yep,that's definitely me as well.
I have 4 in the car. 6 in the bedside cabinet, a couple in the dining room chest of drawers and lastly a couple in the back bedroom for my grandsons to use when they stay over.
All fitted with rechargeable batteries,so I spend next to nothing on new batteries.

I remember a sign on Manchester buses asking "please give up your seat for someone old, someone with a baby, someone expecting one, someone you fancy."
Can't see that coming back.

Does Kaz know?

Ashton buses used to have 'Spitting Prohibited' written in the upper saloon.

I always used to think 'Dirty bastards, who spits inside a bus?'

Anyway, not seen that sign for a long, long time. No one must spit anymore.
