When the dog's head opens up in The Thing. I was watching on the colour TV downstairs up until that point but then decided to watch the rest of the film in bed on the black and white portable! With my pillow.

I saw that pass over Heaton Park airshow when I was 3 in 1970, and I'm still shaking now.
I remember when one flew over Warrington, not long after the Falklands Conflict had finished. I thought the huge windows in my mum and dad's house were going to smash

Up close and personal with one of the space shuttles at Cape Canaveral a few years ago. Took a well-placed elbow to the ribs from Mrs MB to stop me standing there gawping like a child.
Atlantis, stunning when the curtain thingy goes back ain't it.
