the last half hour was as powerful a bit of TV as I've seen in a long while
 
There were some excellent performances in this (and it has to be said some abysmal ones too - the guy who played Milky was atrociously bad) but for me, the real stand-out guy was Johnny Harris who played Mick, Lol's dad.

To play such a despicable role it would be tempting either to give the guy some redeeming features or to go 'all-out' evil. Harris instead pitched it absolutely spot-on.

he should win some TV awrds type thing as he was superb

he was very good, that role was originally for Paddy Considine, but he was busy on other work commitments.

infact on the very first episode i thought it were him.
 
Spoke to Andy Ellis this week-good news -there will be a xmas special and a strong possibility of another series.
 
got a mate who does loads of extras acting, he reckons shane meadows requests some dodgy acting in certain scenes so as to enhance the powerful scences where the acting has to be top notch. it portrays a lighthearted approach to life until the darker side needs to be portrayed in near real life.
