Just started watching This Life again on iPlayer

Series set around a group of twentysomething lawyers in the mid nineties

Okay, that doesn't make it sound compelling, but it was a good (two) series with good storylines and good characters

Re-watching it, it's very much of it's time, but still decent

Anyone's thoughts / remember this??

It was very much of its time. Loved it when I first watched it.

Thursday night 9.30pm? BBC2. Some of our gang used to be delayed coming out for the mad Thursday nights out cos of this. Those of us who could wait to watch it back as a recording were happy to get stuck into the bottles of Rolling Rock at £1 each.

When I saw it back again a couple of years ago I was a bit underwhelmed, realising just how self absorbed and frankly unlikeable virtually all the cast of characters were.

Loved it. I've still got it the VHS Box set tucked away in a cupboard somewhere.

It was ruined by Egg's obsession with the rags. That said it was quite well observed in that Egg fucked off to London told everyone how amazing 'nited were and passion of the Theatre of Dreams and all that shite but never went to any actual games. I fucking hated that simpering prick in 1996 and I hate him now and the fact he's fictional is irrelevant.

In real life I lived in London for over 10 years, kept my season ticket at City going and manged quite a few aways but that's the difference between rag and blue.

I thought it was great when I was 15 but when it was on a few years ago it felt like everyone involved had been trying too hard and it was very pleased with itself.

Brings back memories- too nostalgic to rewatch that, 90s and 00s seemed so hassle free and less angry compared to nowadays and I would go back in a heart beat if it wasn’t for the pain of having to see the rags ascendency in PL and our nomad years.
You say that, and most of us think it, but I watched a doc about the 80s the other day and it reminded me how grim it was.

Burn It was better for City fans

Burn It is and always will be my favourite TV series ever.

As a Blue of similar age to the characters, it had everything........City references, cracking tunes, fantastic storylines and great characters.

I'm desperate to get hold of a copy of the DVD's for both series one and two.
They were uploaded to Youtube (a channel called "BurnItManchester) a while back, but all of series one has been removed.

Great series and as god as This Life is and I'm enjoying watching again........it ain't no Burn It!!

I’ve got this on DVD somewhere. Pretty good from what I recall.

Is this the series where Andrew Lincoln plays a chef called ‘egg’ or something?

Yeah but typical rag that character and I remember his brother came down to visit him and he was a blue!
