This team won't be considered great until...

I agree with the last two comments as well. Losing a Derby with the team we had in the middle of a Champions League tie is not a big deal for me, because I know we play it again with a fresh team and full squad we would decimate them. However we're not quite as good as we thought. We're not where Barcelona, Real Madrid etc are, but I think most knew that.

Utd game is irrelevant in the bigger picture. We know perfectly well why we lost it. Utd are not the better side. Far from it, but we need to go through those big games until we can hit some adversity and be able to play through it unaffected. It's big game experience. We also need to develop technically as a squad. Left back cover, and a forward is an issue. You saw yesterday why we needed Mahrez.

It amuses me that people who make comments like this and who get rubbished often turn out to be right yet time and again people on this forum rubbish other blues for just speaking their mind. You should listen to alternative points of view and consider them. The shine has definitely been taken off this season, although we are still by far the leading club in English football, and ahead of where we have a right to expect to be in what is Guardiola's 2nd season. We might yet turn the Liverpool tie around too. Not impossible.

This team needs to give a performance on Tuesday. We don’t necessarily need to win it but we need to take them to within a goal. Anything else I feel our season will slightly lose it’s sparkle.

Rest assured Pep will look to improve the team further.

CL is very popular all over the world, there are millions of fans that dont give a shit about Premier League as they support clubs from Brazil, Japan, Germany, Spain, Italy etc but lots of those fans do care about CL. Thats the only place they are watching City games if they dont follow PL week by week.

So far maybe with the exception of Pelle's semifinal Man City's CL track record given our huge investments have been a big fat joke. From failing to get out of group stage finish behind Ajax, to getting trough then quickly out against Barca in first round with not even making it a close tie until getting Pep and losing to Monaco in 1/8 finals even with winning the home game 5-3.
And even Pelle's semifinal ended so badly in terms of display over two games its kind of a bad thing to remember how big pile of nothing we tried to do to get to the final compared to the great tie vs PSG just before that.

I really hope Klopp wont be able to stop us from the semis, would make me angry that again a lesser squad gets to semis after playing us like Monaco last season.

Its time to deliver performances at least as strong as our squad should be able too or even above that in CL too.
I smell raggy...
