We could save ourselves a lot of money in the future if we commandeer the Monaco scouts. The number of star players they have discovered recently is amazing.

I don't think its that their scouting is so much better. More that the players they do scout are not as developed as the top clubs are looking for. They can take a player and play him for 2 years for him to reach his potential and from there he is then good enough for bigger teams to take.

Big clubs that have taken talented younger players just loan them out or stick them in the youth teams and the lack of game time means they won't develop nearly as well.

It will be interesting in 2/3 years time to see if what we are doing comes to fruition. The likes of Angelino, Garcias, Maffeo etc. Loaning them to affiliate clubs to ensure game time in competitive leagues to make them ready for the first team. If this doesn't work then there is probably no chance of these players ever breaking through and money will keep being spent.

A settle maybe. Don't think we'll see any real deflation as revenues are still largely on the rise, but after two periods of rapid inflation caused by major market shocks (PL Money and the Neymar transfer at twice the previous record), we'll see a tiny step back and a period where prices will stall for a few years. With Lemar it's more a case that he simply hasn't been as impressive this season.

Bonucci actually cost €42m but it was still good value, obviously dictated by the fact he wouldn't leave Italy.

He got 3 goals in all competitions, I think that fee is pretty in keeping with the current inflation. Arsenal's bid had more than a whiff of desperation about it. The market may level out for a little bit and not sky rocket again for a while though.

Domestic fees between Italian clubs have always been quite reasonable.
It’s only when teams from abroad (particularly us it seems) enquire about buying one of their players that the b*ggers start behaving like modern day Dick Turpins
