Thomas Partey charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to three women

Pretty sure the club can do what they want if they feel a player has brought disrepute upon the club? And they probably need less evidence than the courts do to convict. Yes, they may need to compensate, but they could do.

To be fair to Mr DomesticViolence he's an expert in women related crimes.

****

How very convenient! This needs properly investigating as it’s way too much of a coincidence. Even if he is found not guilty.
Remember Ronaldo being charged by the PL for smashing that Everton fans phone. Despite clear evidence it took them months to charge him, and only charged him after he left the PL.

Waited so there’s no comeback or disadvantage to Arsenal I see.

Who thinks they’d have waited nicely for us to sign a replacement for Mendy?

Cheating, corrupt redshirt cartel bullshit in action again.

It wasn't tainted when they cheated Spurs out of a place in the league. And it wasn't tainted when their manager was done for dodgy dealings. Fairly sure the fact that a 'former' player has been charged won't stick either as they'll say they knew nothing about it until today.

This is a club and fan base that seems to have an issue with oil money yet has been sponsored by the same since they moved stadium. Their self awareness isn't very high.
Let’s not forget their Visit Rwanda sponsorship.

I would urge caution in what is posted on here. Like our 115 case he's only been charged. No conviction as of yet.

Very true.

Like with Mason Greenwood though, whether found guilty or not by the courts, the 'evidence' that has been made public certainly makes me think the guy is a shit regardless.

They have been advised to look at the precedent; they chose a different route and better utilising a commodity as opposed to it being idle; they’d get laughed out the room if they tried to revisit it…

Well we all know who has strong ties and influence with the DPP and Arsenal don't we..

.... ooops wrong thread should've been in the Labour Government one
I cannot imagine a senior politician often seen freeloading in corporate hospitality at Arsenal, who used to be in charge of public prosecutions, could possibly have got this process drawn out to the advantage of his sanctimonious club. That sort of thing just doesn’t go on…….

I doubt the police are part of the "Redshirt Cartel".

They probably got wind that he was gonna try to leave the country with his next club and they've expedited it to stop that happening.

Why was this covered up? Why was he still allowed to play? Surely this should mean some severe sanction against Arsenal. City were forced to pay Mendy compensation for lost wages, even though he broke the rules of his bail, long after his contract was terminated. American lawyers.

No way! What a shock, never would have guessed it was him...

Some proper unhinged comments suggesting arsenal somehow have the power to influence this announcement to coincide with his departure. If there's any relationship between the timing and his football career it will likely be the potentially imminent move overseas and the risk of not being able to get him back here to face the charges depending on where he goes.

Whether hes found guilty or not, arsenal still made the decision to carry on playing him fully aware of these charges.

Thats a despicable decision.

They can hide behind the excuse of the legal ramifications all they want but the moral, correct thing to do is to not play him and deal with that afterwards just like we did with Mendy. It cost us a fuck tonne of money but it was the correct thing to do.

Arsenal actively chose not to do the correct thing. They should be reminded of that regularly.

Look at this as an employer and employee Employer is aware of a police investigation, might even be on bail. It’s not the employer’s responsibility to act as judge and jury. So, the employee is allowed to continue until charged, even then, if they suspend the employee they have to do so on full pay City lost their case v Mendy as they claimed he was unable to fulfill his contract then they didn’t have to pay him, he even “jumped bail” After he was found innocent he sued City for his loss of earnings and won
So, Arsenal allowed Partey to continue to ply his trade and fulfil his contract, without any comment and in my view probably correctly If they had suspended him on full pay then in the public perception would have been that he was guilty dispite being innocent until proven otherwise effectively that would have made a trial more difficult being in the public eye makes things much more difficult if it was you or me very few people would know

He wasn't charged he was arrested and released on bail pending an investigation which concluded after his contract ended the CPS then decided to charge him
